Recently, I got the Devil May Cry anniversary collection, and from seeing some reviews for DMC2,I had my doubts when I first got into it...and as of just finishing it today, I have to say, I enjoyed it alot more than the original...the gameplay felt more smooth, and as i do like the wise-cracking Dante, i enjoyed his more serious and mature temperment in this one......

Another one on my list is PoP:Warrior Within...I know Sands of Time was good, but it was bland...basically all it was is solve puzzle, attack attack, dagger, repeat...and again, WW added more gameplay, depth, and story....yet all i hear are complainants about it being too "emo" and was shunned....

Ok, so really, was just wondering what other badly received or reviewed games that u thought were awesome

007 Nightfire for the PC. Sure, it wasn't a great game (you could be standing a metre away from an enemy and half your shots would still miss, there was something up with the hit detection in that game), but there was something about the game's atmosphere that always made me feel badass.

Clive Barker's Jericho
F.E.A.R. Extraction Point/Perseus Mandate (a lot of people complained about them)

Only ones that come to mind right now...

Sudeki for the Xbox. Pretty repetitive and the story ain't very original but the characters are likeable and mature in interesting ways.

SimTower.

OK, so I didn't think it was good, but I did thoroughly enjoy it, and still install it from time to time.

I agree here. i thought the game was to be avoided at all costs, then EB games had it on sale for $9 so i thought what the hell and picked it up. Sure it is not groundbreaking or amazing by any measure, but it wasn't as bad as it was made out to be by a long shot. I enjoyed it.

Dune 2000 was a good game in my opinion.

Also I think Dungeon Keeper 2 deserved more praise then it got.

Dynasty Warriors 4. The only one that deserves a distinguishing number, in my opinion. Yeah, that's right.

Spore. I know the reviews were okay, but a lot of people seem to hate it on The Escapist. I thought it was a damn good game.

Assassin's Creed got a few mixed reviews - and again, I've seen a lot of negative comments from the community about it - but I loved it. I still play it occassionaly, with The Wall playing in the background.

Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest

It was one of the first RPGs I played and finished. I think most people didn't like it because its story and gameplay wasn't as good as other Final Fantasy games.

I know people hear tend to like Assassin's Creed, but over the internet it has had a mixed reception, at best. However, I contend that Assassin's Creed is, as Link from The Legend of Zelda: The Abridged Series [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=geWNqJjbtZU] would say, "more epic than Metal Gear Solid and Splinter Cell combined!"

...plus you get to ride ponies...

Hmm, anywhere I've read user reviews people seem to love it. I have it myself, find it to be a fun timewaster. I'd like to get the sequel, Yoot Tower, but none of the abandonware sites I visit ever seem to have it for download.

Army of Two was quite fun with a friend. The story and voice acting were shit, but I still had fun.
