Bad parts of an otherwise good game that just frustrated you to point where you just quit?

Escort or stealth missions that are just randomly thrown in. I have yet to finish Crisis Core because of that fucking stealth mission in the mountains. But yet I love the Metal Gear Games

You just brought back some painful repressed memories... ugh.

The spinning blade columns in God of War made me want to kick puppies. I had to turn off the TV and go back to it the next day.

I For me personally no game is a better example of this than Dead Space. While the dismemberment and exploring of the ship is a riot of laughs, encountering those annoying guardian things that kill you over and over again or much worse those annoying Zero G puzzles (specifically the ones that can kill you if you mess up) that just ruin the fun. Some of these puzzles are okay but often they are so annyoing and frustrating that I am usually driven to shut the game off. If I want to solve puzzles I'll play Portal but if I want to dismember alien limbs on a derelict ship then I'd look to a game like Dead Space.

You forgot to mention the on rails meteor shooting sections... they were just horrific.

In Oblivion, when you hace to close those gates. After the first I thought it was great, but after the second, it was more like, ohh three more left. sigh.... (turns off and returns when the expansion comes out. I still haven't finished it.
Yep, I could never be bothered with those.
Aye, I used to be possessed with the idea of closing those gates for the stones, but now I'm just doing Dark Brotherhood quests.
Which seem to me to be the best written questline of the game, at least in terms of fun and excitement.

Edit:

I fucking hated those. Even on the medium difficulty, I still took me a good number of tries to do it, and even then I scraped by with like 5% shields.

the bit in Metroid Prime where you're in an underwater ship or something. i don't know why but i hated that part of the game, especially when you have to jump from platform to platform with restricted movements and when you are 1 jump away from getting out you miss and fall all the way back down to the bottom. i powered on through and managed to get through the game. i wanted to do it again but didn't purely because i didn't want to have to go through the underwater section all over again.

The final level of ratchet and clank 2
Boss battle against Dr. Nefarious in ratchet and clank 3
Quite a few missions in Jak 2
Almost every single mission in driv3r.
The library in halo
Cortana in halo 3
half the levels in halo 2
That boss near the end of assassins creed where it turns out it's some women instead of the guy you're trying to kill.
And ravenholm in half-life 2.

Oh dear God this, that was just so annoying :| specially with the damned TIE's attacking every 5 seconds.

Also, Fallout 3/Oblivion when a plot character glitches out and never comes back till you start a new game.

The first level of Deus Ex. It was five years before I picked up the game again and realised its brilliance.

This. Even worse on the PC port of the game (which I have). Helicopter flying wants me to use the mouse, WASD, directional keys and both ctrl buttons at the same time, while plane flying, without analog sticks, is actually impossible.

Chronicles of Riddick. There's this part where I'm on an elevator, and then I get to a mech. I'm out of ammo and grenades, so I can't shoot out the lights. It's frustrating that I literally CANNOT get past that part of the game.

That boss with the instant kill moves with nothing to train on if you saved before you fight it.
In every damn Final Fantasy game. I refuse to give those games more than one slot on my memory card, and so I've never finished a mothership Final Fantasy title.

I want to finish Final Fantasy IV, but I always run into some super strong red or blue dragons that wipe my whole party in a couple turns.

I also hate that one pillar puzzle in The legend of Zelda: Twilight princess outside of the temple of time.

Star Wars: KOTOR. The last boss I couldn't beat until I used cheat codes. I was leveled up max or at least close to max but could never beat him. Though I will disagree with me that it is a good game. Okay, but too many bugs and bi-polar behavior (characters disapperaing for no apparent reason, Tusken raiders attacking me even though I made peace witht them)

That's the only one I can think of now.

I agree completely. Amazingly awesome game up to that point. It's one of the few last levels where I've completely given up on a game. Korax in Hexen had the same effect on me.

There is only one game that I've owned and haven't completed, and that is Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. I quit when I got to the second flying section (after barely completing the first). The controls were so clunky on the PC it was ridiculous.
