Eternal Sonata.

"Oh no, I hath been smoten. I will be forced to droll on for five mintues on all the plot twist shite anyone with half-a-brain figured out anyway by now."

"I am not...{ANGLE CHANGE, ANGLE CHANGE)...afraid anymore!"

Oh, and Dolce. Fuck, I hate Dolce.

I agree. I wouldn't mind in-game ads if they actually made the game cheaper, but they don't. It's like cable or sattelite TV, you are paying a subscription but you still have to sit through as many if not more commercials than you do if you watch the "free" networks with rabbit ears. Some say the in-game ads make the games more realistic. I say that's nonsense. I prefer cleverly written fake ads in games any day. There have been some pretty funny parodies of real companies in games back before ads for real products became popular in games. Some of the ads in Deus Ex for example are pretty funny.

You mean in-game ads like, Gizmodo, or a normal game, but instead of having a banner in that building for "Mike" having one with the actual symbol and name like "Nike"?

Quick Time Events - They were sort of fun in RE4, and I don't mind the ones in God of War, but lately they're just overused and annoying.

Being required to drink water to stay alive (AKA, gradually deteriorating health) - Dark Cloud is the only example I can think of for this, and that was an awful idea.

Deterioration of weapons and armor - Dark Cloud did this too, another bad idea.

The boss characters in any SNK game. Ever. You do feel so awesome when you beat it though.#
The main characters from Final Fantasy games (except Squall and maybe Yuna if I'm feeling nice).
Raining Blood in Guitar Hero III. It's not even a good song, what's the point in it other than to piss people off?

That wasn't so bad. There were plenty of waterfalls and such like, you just have to map out your journeys and think about what you're doing.

Yeah, it wasn't like it made the game harder. I just don't like knowing that I have to go do it every twenty minutes or so. If it just replenished health, but your health didn't gradually fall, I wouldn't mind it as much.

Nintedo's complete failure at designing online play.

Seriously, anyone who's played Brawl knows what I'm talking about. Brawl is my favorite multiplayer game to date (BTW, I'm not even going to mention tripping here. We all hate it, we all agree on it, end of discussion.), but online matches are stuck on timed, 4-player fights, which to me is the worst way to play the game. I've never even been able to play a match without game-ruining lag. I hear they've somewhat fixed it, but I don't care as I don't even want to play a timed match anyway.

I'm sure everyone already knows how much this sucks, but I have to mention it here because this actually kept me from buying a Wii. My Fiancee already has a Wii, so I can just play the single-player games I like at her place. My friends all have Brawl already, so the only reason for me to get a Wii would have been to play Brawl whenever I want.

Mario Kart is much better, but again, you can't pick what mode you want to play in. I was really excited about the strategic setting, since it allows you to have a more legitimate test of skill rather than the usual craziness. It's still fun to play as it is, but I would have been able to take the game a little more seriously if it could be played with strategic items only and it would be another reason to get a Wii.

I know it's a little strange to be pissed about Nintendo sucking at multiplayer when the other systems and PCs have a far greater selection of games anyway. The thing is, I'm completely bored of the FPS genre (I hear Shadowrun at least made an attempt to be more interesting than most, so I may give that a try) and I'm terrible at RTS games (though I still play WC3 for the custom games), and I absolutely refuse to play MMOs. Since these genres make up 99% of the online multiplayer games available, I think it's understandable that I was looking forward to Brawl as one of the few online games I could really enjoy, and that I was quite disappointed at how hard they failed at it.

Too Human wasn't a good game in my book, but to each his own.

The camera in Ninja Gaiden 2 killed me more times than the other ninjas, though.

I liked sailing in windwaker.... Gave a sence of epicness.
Granted, but when playing the game for the second time it's like "Yeah, I get it... epic, lots of ocean, blah blah blah". It isn't even really the fact that it takes a while to get anywhere, because there's a lot of travel time in any Zelda game. It's the fact that you don't have anything to do while sailing. You can look around for treasure, sure, but otherwise you just point the boat in the right direction and then stare at the screen for 5 minutes.

I'm a big fan of Zelda, but the sailing alone made me stop playing the second playthrough of the game before I even got to the second temple. Which is a shame because it was one of the better titles outside of the sailing.

Kudos to you; I couldn't even finish it once. It was a good game, and I particularly liked the dungeons where you had Melody or that plant thing with you. At that point in the game the sailing sucked, but I was willing to put up with it because I was having enough fun in the towns and dungeons to justify it. However, as soon as they told me to go collect however-many pieces of the triforce scattered around the islands I pretty much put down the controller, turned off the game, and haven't touched it since.

One of my measures of a whether a new MMO is in the hands of possibly good developers or a bunch of idiots is whether that game has weapon deterioration. Very bad, and irritating, money sink...seriously...

I admit I haven't played it, but from what I've seen and heard... What went on the developer's mind to think "this will never get old!"?

Perhaps they should do like Assassin's Creed for PC: you're forced to walk/ride (sail in this case) from one location to the next in the first couple missions, then everytime you walk out of a city you can just teleport (or in AC's case: "Fast forward") to another destination, OR choose to walk it.

This way you can appeal to both the crowd that wants to sail it, and the crowd that just wants that the fuck over with.

One thing I just realized I forgot:

Games where you have 1 single chance to get a specific item/s and if you fail that one time you can never, ever, get them again and therefore gotta restart the entire game...Basically force you to play with a strategy guide on your lap which basically ruins the game (main reason why I lost interest in FF)

^ Annoying, but not really a problem. In any game like that I just play as though those items don't exist, since I'd rather enjoy the game without reading a guide every step of the way than worry about getting a few overpowered items. Think about it, would you ever say that you didn't enjoy an RPG because you found out that you missed a strong item? No, you say you didn't enjoy it because you ruined it by playing from a guide to get those items.
