Fuck yeah I can bake. I usually like to make up some potato bread, and I make a killer apple tart. But for the holidays nothing beats cinnamon brioche and coffee... To be fair I'm a chef by trade.
"I must say you are the most RANGERIFIC Baker I have ever known."Dr Snakeman said:So, I'm currently in the middle of crafting the most thoroughly bitchin' cinnamon rolls in existence (I know, because I made them last year, and they kicked ass). I'm in the "wait for the dough to rise" phase. They are shaping up to be my new favorite part of Christmas morning, if they wind up as good as last time.
But that's enough about me. The point of this thread is to ask the question in the title: Do you bake? How often? What is your favorite baked good, either to make or to eat?
At its core, this thread is about things that are baked, and the people who bake them. Discuss.
Edit: So, my cinnamon rolls didn't rise. Apparently, I killed the yeast. I admit, I'm not actually that good a baker. But dammit, I am not about to let a bunch of pansy-ass fungus end my quest for awesome breakfast tomorrow! I will prevail! Manly Bakers don't give up.
I was the same as a teenager, now i have a crappy oven that can't keep temperature right so i dont bake anymore.Vildleder said:I'm a bit of an unusual case, being a teenaged boy who loves baking, but I bake regularly, mostly of cakes of the sweet variety.

Also, as a little side note, I hate ready-bake cakes, the ones where it's just a powder which you add water/milk to and it's good to go. Takes all the fun out of the baking, and I've never tasted a ready-bake cake which can stand toe-to-toe with a cake made from fresh ingredients and every part made by hand.
