As far as I can tell, it's still using the original 2ed ADnD ruleset. It might be sacrilege, but I would kill for a proper 3.5ed adaptation.xdiesp said:Is this on baldur 1's ruleset, or nwn2's?
I haven't checked combat logs or anything, but it uses 3.5 for character creation(I made a warlock), and I find it highly unlikely that the mod team managed to change the entire NWN2 combat engine to implement THAC0 and Save vs Breath Weapons. On what basis are you claiming that the Reloaded mod is using AD&D rules?IanDavis said:As far as I can tell, it's still using the original 2ed ADnD ruleset. Buy the diamond edition that comes with everything.Barda236 said:I just finished the original NVN, any suggestions on what to buy for 2?Akexi said:Well if that is not a reason to reinstall NWN2, I don't know what is. I may need to re buy Storm of Zehir though, oh well.
Never underestimate the power of the Modding, Luke. Been on and off following this for the last 2 years, and I believe they began before that. Unlike others they don't really flaunt it past the Bioware forums, I first heard about it secondhanded on a roleplaying server and shot it off as impossible.. But nope, now it's here.. I'm gonna play it. Whoooo!Tiamat666 said:No way.
I came here all smug, wanting to rant about how this mod will never be finished because it's far too ambitious and BG is just too big and this and that.
And then I read that it's actually already done?
Consider me flabbergastedly humbled.
To be fair it was an ambitious projectTiamat666 said:I came here all smug, wanting to rant about how this mod will never be finished because it's far too ambitious and BG is just too big and this and that.
Wow. The guy must have a very deep love for BG running through his heart to keep that up. That is just amazing.Nimzar said:To be fair it was an ambitious projectTiamat666 said:I came here all smug, wanting to rant about how this mod will never be finished because it's far too ambitious and BG is just too big and this and that. The guy behind it started in November of 2006
Well, I didn't see any mention of it ANYWHERE on the project page, so I assumed when they said "porting the entirety of BG1", I figured that meant the rules. Somehow, I thought that a 3.5ed conversion would be a huge, newsworthy thing, but you're right, converting NWN2 backwards is more of an accomplishment.Scars Unseen said:On what basis are you claiming that the Reloaded mod is using AD&D rules?
Good luck, the DRM server is no longer available, so unless you can get it DRM free you won't be able to activate it. I have a legit copy on dvd, and I can't get it to activate, even with cracks. (this applies to SoZ only though)Akexi said:Well if that is not a reason to reinstall NWN2, I don't know what is. I may need to re buy Storm of Zehir though, oh well.
Not sure about NWN2, but someone was working on remaking Shadows of Amn for Dragon Age. Here's a cutscene they did for the exit of Irenicus' dungeon:Tiamat666 said:Wow. Incidentally, I just ran through the whole modding procedure for the original BG/BG2 a couple of days ago intent on taking the plunge. Now I guess that was a futile gesture as I'm going to have to play this.
Or maybe I should wait another 7 years until this person mods BG2 into NWN and makes it seamless to BG1...
I love champions of krynn and gateway. I replayed it a couple years back. Still the best of the old gold games. Never got into pools. Something about the updated design killed it. I found them no where as accessible as krynn.uzo said:OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG !!!

Freakin' awesome. Still got my 6 disk copy of BG1&TSOC at home, sitting next to Icewind Dale ... Shadows of Amn ... NWN1 ... NWN2 ... Champions of Krynn .... Gateway to the Savage Frontier ..... Eye of the Beholder ....... Pools of Radiance ......
(am I showing my age yet?)
