Ban idiots altogether.

That would include many CoD, Halo, Killzone, Resistance and Gears 2 players.

If they have it as their tag, chances are they know what it means. Little kids play Halo all the time, if they play, they know. Why let it get to you?

So kill them right back. Does it really matter that much?
I agree, just accept that they are idiots and keep playing. The best thing you can do to them is kick their asses in the game.

Does it matter what clan tags people have? I don't see how a simple acronym can get you so riled up. Just get over it and kill them back.

I don't even have an Xbox or like Halo, but I can see why this would be annoying.
It's almost as bad as people going round calling themselves teh_pwnerer.

People shouldn't even use clan tags unless they are in a clan. Bang! By the way, I am almost 30, and I still had to look up what ODST stood for. Orbital drop shock troopers, now you can all stop looking it up on line and pretending that you knew what it stood for.

So erm, what?
Are we angry at a clan or just people with a tag?
I don't understand.

Wow, you have a real talent for getting angry over nothing at all :)
To be honest, I am nit picking. My real issue here is that children aged 12 and under are playing 16+ and 18 games that they got their mother to buy because they couldn't touch the game in the shop without someone saying "ah ah ah"

I don't mind the age of the player, I care about their maturity. I've played with nice and skilled 10 year olds, and played with 20 somethings who couldn't play, insulted everyone, and overall were idiots.

On-Topic: Let them pick whatever tag they want to use. It doesn't matter.

I agree completely. My brother started playing Halo with me when he was around 12, and he is incredibly mature. Since he never talks on xbox live, people often mistake his age for being something higher. If a 10 year old knows what to do, and isn't a complete dickwad, I don't care.

What bothers me most is that of the many [ODST] clan tag sporting idiots I have met, a fair number of them are children, too young to play Call of Duty and wouldn't know what ODST stands for.
To be fair, you cant really expect young kids to be all that familiar with an Online Dating Search Tool, you have to be over 18 to join most of those sites anyway.

Seriously though, if that acronym annoys you so much just give it a different meaning and laugh at it, for example Official Dick Sucking Team, Orangutan & Donkey Support Trust or Old Dirty Sex Tourists.

That's the beauty of acronyms, they're very vague and you can interpret them however you like.

Well. Overall douchiness is something you have to deal with on xbox live a fair amount. But, I think clan tags are nice to add a little creative touch to your permanent gamertag (unless you want to drop 10 bucks to change it). I have a bunch of friends that i play call of duty with on xbox live. If we choose to put up a clan tag, then it is usually a joke, or to make people who take things too seriously angry. Me and a good friend of mine sported opposite ends of "MCAN" and "OBMA" tags around November. He supported McCain and i supported Obama, so he put on obma and i put on mcan. When we have 6 people, when we want a map skipped, it almost always gets skipped. So we all put on the "XBLP" tag, standing for xbox live parliment. Just a little joke we find fun. When we want to play seriously and try to win, we put our daily record up. We usually get up to 9-0 or something then we lose interest (aka lose). But back on topic, i believe that if people want to support that new halo game coming out through their clan tag then they can feel free. I mean, it will most likely suck so they will look like idiots when they buy it first day it comes out and will not admit its faults.

IN CONCLUSION: Clan tags are fun and LET'S GO BILLS!!
