BoB. The story and the characters were fleshed out more in it than The Pacific.

Don't have Sky so not even be able to watch it yet, Will probably get it when it comes to Dvd eventually. Band of Brothers was great though so high expectations.

I really liked Band of Brothers, so far I like it more. However, only 3 episodes of The Pacific have aired over here.

I love both. Though I've only been able to see 2 episodes of The Pacific, because I do not have HBO. I'd have to say BoB because I have seen it more often.

Why does this have to be a competition? almost like a versus thread (reported btw).

They are both as awesome as each other.

this is not a versus :S it is just to ask people their opinion ^^ and to see if any1 agrees with me on the nuke thingy :D no1 answered until now hahahahah ^^

perhaps i explained it badly i just wanted to tell someone how "sad" i am with the lack (but still great...i was just expecting much more...) of quality in this new series about WW2

Band of Brothers, it had more of that historical dramatic miniseries feel. With The Pacific I do not feel like the people the series is portraying are actually real (which I know they are) (with the exception of Basilone)......Don't get me wrong I still think The Pacific is a good show, but it just feels more like a written drama more than what Band of Brothers was.

I agree with this I feel they're both just as good as each other but I just think the Pacific looks gorgeous in HD so thats lifted it just above for me. However if they were made at the same time they would be as good as each other.

Pacific has made me laugh much more "You've killed your best friends while Tojo and FuckFace over there are still spraying our lines!"

Yeah I agree with the guys before that generation kill was better than both. Its the last tv series I actually went out of my way to watch on FX.

Out of those two id say band of brothers. Damian Lewis is one of my favourite actors and i liked the series very much so I bought it on DVD

"Meh"

I'd actually like a realistic war film that didn't focus on the americans for once. How I long for a good Brit film, or a Russian one (though the Sniper was pretty kickass) or even a German one! I say again: THE RETREAT TO BERLIN WOULD BE EPIC, game or film.

Best war film ever would be "Waterloo"

Out of the two I definately prefer band of brothers. The weekend before The Pacific aired they showed the whole series over 2 nights, had been years since I last saw it and was yet again engrossed.

Aside from Leckie, I have no real feeling for any of the characters in The Pacific. It seems like they were trying to go for the awesome heros angle straight from the word go. We wern't introduced to dyamic people so much as "ooh rah we're the marines". Which I guess is great for Americans but as a Brit the marines...how to put it without sounding offensive. It would be like an average American watching a series about a squad of Royal Marine Commandos, they mean nothing in your own culture, so you don't understand why they are often made out to be one dimensional badasses.

Perhaps, again, as a Brit I can identify with the warzone of BoB more, like with Saving Private Ryan, even though the story focuses on Americans, you know a few miles up the coast British/Canadians were facing the exact same carnage as they stormed Sword, Juno and Gold beaches.

It should be said though, I'm still very much enjoying The Pacific as a series.

And it ended...

Great finish! last episode was even better than the one in BoB, i still prefer BoB but The Pacific is a worthy series to be watched and rewatched from time to time

I haven't got round to watching The Pacific yet, but I'm really looking forward to watching it. I doubt I'll like it as much as Band of Brothers but if it's only half as good, I'm sure I'll enjoy it.

Band of Brothers. The Pacific doesn't have Speirs in it. 'Nuff said.
The run.
