Apart from the aforementioned Kyuss, which was (at least I think) reasonably popular at one time, and Sleep, why not Fu Manchu? Their tracks are a bit samey, but sound awesome anyway:
Much love, much love. I'm a big Fu Manchu fan.

Speaking of Kyuss, I saw Kyuss Lives! last year, they're amazing. Unfortunately Josh Homme and Scott Reeder are busy trying to fuck them over right now, so who knows what's going to happen there.

Personally, I fucking love Streetlight Manifesto (Tomas Kalnoky is a god!). Admittedly for a ska band in this day and age they're actually quite big, but they deserve more.

Also, fuck Victory Records.

Band of Skulls, the only band I can honestly say I've followed since they started.

It's very honest, bluesy alternative rock. Saw them live in Aberdeen recently and they can put on one hell of a show.

Also, the 1970s band Blue. Much better than the boy band from the 90s XD

Time to share my love for Avantgarde stuff again.

Toby Driver's two main acts, Maudlin of the Well and Kayo Dot deserve mention: while one is strange, but simultaneously astonishingly beautiful or black-metal hard, the other is...well...just strange with a lot of expressionist feeling to it - but both are awesome. If you can stomach them, that is.

The Kinks. Fuck The Beatles. The Beatles are nothing. The Kinks should have been fucking massive. Instead they had a few top ten singles and faded into obscurity, becoming a cult band.
Oh goodie, another "Beatles is overrated" thing. How original.

Have to agree about the Kinks, though. Tons of great stuff - "See My Friends", "Sittin' On My Sofa", "Where Have All The Good Times Gone?", "Sunny Afternoon", "Dead End Street", "David Watts", "Waterloo Sunset", "Autumn Almanac", "Wonderboy", "Days", "Plastic Man", "Victoria", "Celluloid Heroes" - and yet the Classic Rock and Oldies stations keep passing them up for "You Really Got Me". Not a bad song by any means, but by this point, it's like "Smoke On The Water" - I know it's good, but I wanna hear something else from these guys! 40 years and they still won't show what these guys were truly capable of!

Back on topic, Soft Machine. Arguably the best keyboard power trio, ever!

Poets of the Fall. They're the only band I can listen to constantly and not get bored of. Unfortunately, I can't link any of their songs since Youtube is blocked on my home network, but hey, you should go look them up yourself anyway, because your ears will love you forever.
I came here purely to post that band, and was ninja'd. However, I can certainly post some songs, as Youtube isn't blocked for me :D. Seriously, they are pretty amazing, and yet I have been unable to find their albums in any music store in the UK, from HMV and big chains to small independent stores. It's a complete travesty, I only got into them through Alan Wake anyway and listened to more of their stuff online...

This guy. Wonderful music. He did the soundtrack for Red Dead Redemption. Also, one of his songs (Heartbeats) was used in a Sony commercial. (the one with all the bouncy balls in San Fran)

But other than that, he doesn't seem to be very well known, which I think is a shame.
"Heartbeats" was actually an acoustic cover of a song by The Knife which had been released a year before Mr. Gonzalez covered it.

It was used in an episode of "Scrubs" too.

I do like his music.

OT: Someone already said Fair to Midland, but I'll plug them too.

Also, Helios/Goldmund/Keith Kenniff.

I'd better stop before I post every song he's ever made...

EDIT:
Polkadot Cadaver too, actually.

They had some success in 90s and 00s but that's about it. It's a shame they aren't that more popular because a lot of people will miss out on their newest album and it's one of their best albums.

Stuff from their new album

Classics
That's a (Captcha: very nice) song buck rogers, I've heard it so many times while playing gran turismo 3

I like many bands but I guess the current trend does not agree with me. Kust to name one: Wheatus. And better yet they share they music DRM free with a pay what you want policy, I love them for it.

Well. A fair bit of warning, it's a vastly different genre than Jose's cover. If you don't like European-Electro (it's the only thing I can really think of to actually describe them, cause electronic is one of the few genres that I don't really actively follow) style stuff, it probably won't be your cup of tea.

Just found this band last night.
I am in love.
Great for fans of Venom and newer Toxic Holocaust.

Yeah ! Awesome. I've only recently been introduced to Groundation though I've been jammin' Katchafire as my go to for reggae/roots music for a while now & is definitely worth a listen for anyone keen on reggae. And no, haven't heard of Tiken before tho i gotta say it sounds pretty good .
