Actually, this. I'm a bit indecisive on some of their later work, but I still hold out that Warning was one of the best album purchases I ever made.marter said:
Also Voodoo Glow Skulls, Scar Symmetry, the Proclaimers, and Social Distortion. All great bands that have just managed to fall into that narrow category not covered by the tastes of my various social circles.
As some have said, I don't mind listening to Nickleback, I love Green Day, old and new, any and all sort of J-Pop which everyone I know hates and basically any band that has been labelled 'emo' on this site. Which is a lot. That list includes Fall Out Boy, amongst others.

ASK, I know that they have a fanbase a girls who like them but they only like the CHARACTERS, not the songs(like me)
I'm so going to hell: Coldplay and the Fray
I can definitely see why a lot of people would hate them, but honestly, I have a soft spot for soft floaty piano tunes, because I play piano, and I'm a sensitive *****. Sure not ALL of their songs are good (I hated The Fray's You Found Me song and I only like half of Coldplay's stuff, that and Viva la Vida is so overplayed it makes me wanna puke when I hear it), of course they aren't, there isn't a single band in the world except for the Beatles, that doesn't have a bad song. But yeah, I personally like them.
Still my favorite bands are Arcade Fire, Dethklok, and Muse, which everyone else loves so yeah.

Okay... I don't want people to flame me or hate me for saying this, but here it goes:
Nickelback.
(Throws up hands to block the onslaught of poo being thrown.)
Granted, a lot of their stuff isn't great, but that's true of most bands.
I don't like their latest album, the music is pretty boring.
That being said, some of their stuff is really fun to listen to.
Frankly, I can't understand why people have sort of a biblical hatred towards them.
Some good, some bad.
Sort of a guilty pleasure for me.

Panic! At the Disco and some other pop-ish bands that only lame-os listen to or whatever. A lot of their songs are really catchy.
Slipknot. No one I know likes them at all. I feel like their only fan.
I listen to Pulse of the Maggots every morning to pump myself up for the day.
And mudvayne, but i only really like them when im mad and i need a soundtrack to my fantasies of crushing things with my hands.

While 95% of the music I listen to has absolutely no mainstream appeal in the US, the only two that could be considered hated are Disturbed and Linkin Park (I only like their old stuff).
I think the only reason that Disturbed gets so much hate is that they're vocals are way too clean to be considered "true" metal (untrue perception of metal, but idiots will be idiots).
