Nothing good ever goes to China, and definitely not to Guangzhou (checked your profile, went to high school there). Two friends of mine went to see U2 in Hong Kong, but that's about the best you get. Even HK sucks for concerts, all the vaguely modern bands only seem to hit up KL, Jakarta, Tokyo and Taipei on their Asia tours. HK mostly hosts bands past their prime and popular at Asian Karaoke venues.SpiritCorsair said:"Weird Al" Yankovic all the way. Wish he could bring his next tour to Mainland China. :-( I'd go in a heartbeat.
I've only ever been to one live rock concert and it was a blast: Incubus in London back in 2007. They made songs of theirs that I previously disliked sounds good, and they made songs I liked absolutely epic. Brilliant acoustic version of Redefine took me 30 seconds to recognize.
Other bands:
Offspring
Rage Against the Machine
Green Day (for kicks, and because I can annoy people by knowing their old songs)
Red Hot Chili Peppers
