"Weird Al" Yankovic all the way. Wish he could bring his next tour to Mainland China. :-( I'd go in a heartbeat.
Nothing good ever goes to China, and definitely not to Guangzhou (checked your profile, went to high school there). Two friends of mine went to see U2 in Hong Kong, but that's about the best you get. Even HK sucks for concerts, all the vaguely modern bands only seem to hit up KL, Jakarta, Tokyo and Taipei on their Asia tours. HK mostly hosts bands past their prime and popular at Asian Karaoke venues.

I've only ever been to one live rock concert and it was a blast: Incubus in London back in 2007. They made songs of theirs that I previously disliked sounds good, and they made songs I liked absolutely epic. Brilliant acoustic version of Redefine took me 30 seconds to recognize.

Other bands:
Offspring
Rage Against the Machine
Green Day (for kicks, and because I can annoy people by knowing their old songs)
Red Hot Chili Peppers

I'd love to go and see Three Days Grace, I've listened to them for so so long and I think I could kill to see them live. I'd also HAVE to go and see Def Leppard too.

Alestorm, gods why do they have to come Friday instead of Saturday to Graspop Metal Meeting?
I'll be missing My Dying Bride too.

Fortunately I'll be easing the pain with Paradise Lost, Amon Amarth, Eluveitie and hopefully Korpilaani and Sabaton too.

Korpiklaani is also a band I just have to see once too. I'd also love to see Edguy live.

Personally I'd give an arm to see Offspring live.
Funny you say that. They were a big part of my teenhood and I was (and still am to a lesser extent) a big fan, though their newer stuff doesn't do much for me.

Despite them being my favorite band back in the day, I didn't actually get to see them live until well after I'd grown out of them, when I caught them at the last ever Warped I went to (around the time I didn't recognize more half the lineup, I decided to stop going). They put on a wicket set.

Childhood bands? No. This is because Weird Al is retired as far as I'm aware and, The Notorious B.I.G. and Micheal Jackson are dead. As for bands from the past ... lets say, 10 years:

Cradle of Filth
Venom
Korn
Eminem
Black Sabbath [Dio and Ozzy]

that's all I can think of >.>

I'll make a list of the most important ones:

System of a Down - whenever they've reunited
Wolfmother - whenever I get the chance
TOOL - see Wolfmother
Dream Theater - see Wolfmother
Pink Floyd - whenever I'm able to time-travel *mournful tears*
Freedom Call - German Power Metal coupled with childhood nostalgia. Need I say more? Still haven't seen them.
Iron Maiden - This summer (yay!)
Metallica - 2x Check!
Slipknot - 2x Check!
Muse - Check, although the experience was a huge letdown
Rage Against the Machine - Can you say iconic act? Check!

Damn, I have a some stuff to work on.

Most bands I've wanted to see I've already seen.
Like Rage against the Machine.

But there are bands that I will always buy a ticket to no matter what
The Hives
Arctic Monkeys
International Noise Conspiracy
Mars Volta

just the energy and mayhem brought to stage is worth the ticket price alone
Where do you live? The Hives are a kickass live act; I'm seeing them for the second time this summer, and I can hardly wait.

I would have wanted to see Pink Floyd, but they had to spoil it with their petty disagreements, IE Former members dying.

I've already seen most of the bands I feel that I have to see live (Motorhead, AC/DC, Metallica, Airbourne, Motley Crue, Rammstein). The only bands left that I feel I have to see is Kiss and Iron Maiden.

Oh, and Tuff!

All the bands i would want to see are either broken up or one or more members are dead. for example:
Nirvana
Pink Floyd
The Beatles
Bob Marley
Although i would very much love to see Radiohead or R.E.M.

Well I actually got to see Tally [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QNgyFJOzbs4] Hall [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iEEmUdkTyJ0] last week which is something I've wanted to do my entire life. I nearly cried... it was so amazing.

The other show that I want to go see is Turisas. They look like they put on a great show.

Also, I'm going to Warped this summer and Reel Big Fish and Andrew W.K. are going to be there. I never thought that I would be able to see them at the same place...

Metallica. I would kill to see Metallica. I would murder an expecting mother and eat her fetus, if her fetus contained a Metallica ticket (eat everything BUT the ticket, that is). Slayer would be on the list, but I saw them back in '06, and am seeing them again in July. Disturbed would be on it, had I not seen them on May 25th, '09. Pantera would be on it, if Dimebag's head was still intact . . . and if Pantera hadn't broken up prior to that (though I think we can agree Damageplan was pretty awesome).

Ooh, and Iron Maiden.
