Bands You Never Expected You'd Like

Well in the city I live in, Memphis, we just had this thing called Musicfest. A band played there that I never expected I'd enjoy, they are called MGMT. So I guess the question is what are some bands that surprised you by being actually pretty good.

And here's a guilty pleasure: Lady Gaga
Though not technically a band, i listen to some of her stuff. Some of it i like
Though i prefer the Vitamin String quartet and metal covers (Metal cover of bad Romance = win)

I never thought I would've liked Semi-Precious Weapons if you'd asked me if I was interested in a band that is Veruca Salt meets 80's glam. Mostly because I don't like 80's glam.

I always forget it's 2011. Still last year they had their mainstream popularity, but they had a pretty big following before that, especially on the internets.

the white stripes. I had heard some stuff of theirs and didnt care for it, but then one of my pandora stations made my blow through all my skips by playing a bunch of shit songs back to back and then it played a bunch of different white stripes songs...

I felt bad once i realized i liked them because on 2 seperate occassions me and an exgirlfriend had a fight about how I would like the white stripes if i just gave in and gave them a chance

Avenged Sevenfold.

I saw them in concert last year (one of four bands at the show) and they were surprisingly good. Not a favorite, but better than I'd realized.

I never thought I'd like Plan B, I've never been big on R&B / Hip-Hop / Rap, but he's pretty cool.
