Hmmmmm...

I'd say "Band of Skulls" and "Plasticines". Their inclusion in Gran Turismo 5 is what got me interested. The songs in question being "Patterns" and "Pas Avec Toi", respectively.

Way To Fall by Starsailor was the closing theme to MGS3, so Starsailor. Others but that's the only one that immediately comes to mind. Lots from GTA / San Andreas.

Poets of the Fall from Max Payne 2 and Chiasm from Vampire: Bloodlines are the two that come to mind immediately for me. And while it's not really from a game, I got into Manowar after coming across a video using material from Warhammer for their song Sons of Odin.

There were also a number of artists from the Grand Theft Auto series and Brutal Legend, but there were so many I can't really name them at this point.

Scott Pilgrim series introduced me to the movie which introduced me to the game which introduced me to Anamanaguchi, one of my now favorite bands. Thank you Scott! Because of you, I'm in lesbians with Anamanaguchi
I discovered them through Bit.trip Runner - that game borrowed 'Blackout City' to use as the main menu theme, and it was dripping with so much awesome that I had to investigate.

Which means I, too, am in lesbians with Anamanaguchi? I'm not sure what that entails. Sounds like a big commitment.
