My god, I'd forgotten about croc. That game was awesome, but so hard when I was little. I never actually ended up beating it or croc 2.

I should rectify that.

Yeah, crash is kind of weird when you think about it. It's basically 2D platformer game design, but with 3D graphics and world?

Still and amazing game though. Was Crash 2 the one with the boss that threw swords at you? I remember me and a buddy playing that when we were pretty young and trying so hard to get past it. Probably spent the whole day on it[footnote]We were shit at videogames ok? XD[/footnote]

We had a big celebration and messed up the kitchen making food when we beat it. Good times. XD

Oh god, i don't remember that much from the game. It was one of those games i half remember playing at a friends house when i was a kid and i remember (or rather, don't remember) playing it at a frat party in the 'smoking area'.
If i'd guess, i was thinking of Wrath of cortex and the first crash bandicoot. And Crash team racing gave me no end of joy when i was young.

I'd still describe them as tunnelplatformers. And i'll say tunnelplatformers again because i'm quite proud of that word.
I felt they were unique in that aspect. As being tunnelplatformers[footnote]tunnelplatformers[/footnote]

I do sometimes feel the ghost of crash bandicoot being channeled in some extremely linear games. Say for instance, some MoH games.

I really miss the 3D platformers that emphasised exploration, the Mario 64s and Banko-Kazooie's of this world. BK N&B was a solid game in its own right but it should have been a side-project AFTER they'd made BK3. I actually interviewed a couple of the devs before the game came out and they were obviously told by higher-ups to deflect questions about a true successor by making out 3D platformers were dead and there was no where for them to go (Ellissa Miller slipped up and said they'd died in the mid-90s, bless her), I asked whether Mario Galaxy showed there was still life in the genre and they couldn't answer!

I want to see what a Banjo Kazooie 3 (4) could really look like now-a-days.
Oddly enough, I was playing Banjo Kazoeeie last night and thinking why the hell isn't this a thing anymore.
(Unless of course you bought it in the same sale I did, in which case its not odd at all)

Most of the above poster have covered the main games I loved, so I'll just add Jet Force Gemini and note that modern third person shooters just aren't cute enough these days.
