Could this be a breach of freedom of speech or the right to a peaceful protest?
Celtic FC is a private company and their stadium is private property. Neither of those concepts apply to them. They can ban who they like for whatever reason they like.

I'd ban them. The poppy is the UK's sign of remembrance to all those who fought and gave their lives defending other people's freedoms. Celtic is a Scottish club so it's natural they would wear poppies.

They may not like what happened during the troubles and they may not like what's going on in Iraq and Afghanistan (I certainly don't), but to come out and proclaim wearing a poppy would shame the devils in Hell is disgraceful. It could also be taken as incitement against members of the British armed forces, which is actually a crime.

This is an interesting statment from the largest fan group given that numerous Celtic players volunteered and fought in WWI. Seven Celtic players died fighting for Britain. They're giving two fingers to their own team's history!

Ignoring their own history aside, I'm in two minds over this. On the one hand they have the right to voice an opinion, but that opinion is considered offensive by the majority of people. I suppose it comes down to the fact that they're doing this on private property, so if the Celtic officials don't ban it, they might be seen to be condoning it.
