I live in Georgia.
I'd order online to get an Empoleon or do something along the lines (Start at piplup of course)
Then get a Murkrow

Michigan, near a ton of lakes...
Squirtle, Bulbasaur, Shinx, really, all sorts of bug or water or foresty Pokemon...I've got a good selection to pick from.

Right, I've been out of the pokemon loop for a while so I'll have to rely on the early gens. Now... Belgium...
Koffing, Grimer, Pidgy, Pikachu, weedle, caterpie, and any other applicable city+forest pokemon.
Air quality isn't too great, and what isn't built up is forest round here. I guess there would be a few tentacool round the beach, but that's about it for my little country.

Colorado, up in the more mountainous area. Too cold and dye for bug or water pokemon. But since we've been cleared out, it's more plainsy with spots of deep woods. So, all in all:

Excadrill (Lots of moles as well)
Gengar (Town is fairly haunted, had run in with a spectre myself, and the air isn't entirely healthy)
Pidgeot (Pidgeons are plentiful and I'd be an idiot not to evolve one of them to fly around on)
Espeon (Probably the closest thing to my cat that I could think of)
Stoutland (The fully evolved yorkie, of which I also have)
Not a bad team and I'd absolutely love to have my own Espeon.

Well, we have quite a good difference in climate with the seasons.
Pidgey and Rattata...actually, pretty much every early game derp like Rattata, Sentret, Bidoof, Lillipup, Patrat, Spearow, Pidove etc. would all be around here since most starter areas seem pretty countryesque.
Purrloin, because Meowth seems more like a city kind of cat.
I live near a wooded area, so I could see some Bellsprout, Spinirak, Caterpies, pretty much any derp bug. Hoppips because of the fields near here.
Swablu, maybe, as there are some wide open spaces for them to fly.
Definitely a Grimer and Trubbish downtown.
I could see some Magikarp surbviving in the river since they're really hardy. Probably a few Barboach and Whiscash too.
Wingull and Pelipper.
Damn, the list goes on. I don't want to go super in-depth on a hypothetical question about real Pokemon.

i live in England, slightly to the North... a good mixture of weather, not too cold, warm, dry or wet for most things... I also live across the road from a park.
On a daily basis id see Murkrow and the odd Starly/Pidgey... when it rains enough there would be a lot of Wingull too. Farfetch'd and Psyducks down at the pond... Pachirisu around the foresty lower section. Thats about it really, except theres this bollard thats always carpeted in insects in the summer... but Wurmple seem too big for bollards...
I, personally, would source most of my pokemon from elsewhere... But id catch one of those Murkrows in a heartbeat... i love crows :>

I live in Saskatchewan. It gets cold in winter and we have a ton of snow. In summer there is a ton of space to run around in the fields. Arcanine runs fast, keeps you warm and is just a pal. I choose him!
