Good! Bastion 2 sounds just as smart as the multiplayer mode my roommate was wishing for in Bastion 1. "It's a hack 'n' slash RPG! It would be perfect for a multiplayer game!"

Truthfully I wouldn't be that upset by a sequel, the game has a really interesting world and it could be a lot of fun to see how a society would work in a world that seems to be creating it's self around them.

I certainly hope they will have the foresight to not produce a sequel to Bastion. The game is totally complete as a stand-alone package and frankly we do not need to sully this game's good name with a trashy sequel that fails to do the original justice.

I'm glad they're respecting the game and the fans enough to let a good thing stay as is. I'm glad Bastion has done well enough for them to create new projects, as I'm excited to see their next one. Hopefully they'll put as much effort and thought into it as Bastion! Good luck Supergiant Games!

Sequels are the worst thing about the game industry. I really wish people would stop buying into them so much...

You mean they arent gonna milk the series until it needs to be silently taken outside and put out of its misery?

For shame Mr Kasavin, for shame.

Thank goodness, It would be hard to create a sequel that equals the original. Maybe more games set in the world...But I don't know. Definitely watching these guys though!

Wow... a games developer with... integrity?

The bosses of EA, Activision, Nintendo, Blizzard and Zynga must be collectively shaking their heads sadly, while adjusting their gigantic behinds to a slightly more comfortable perch on the enormous pile of gold coins they're sitting on...

Unless they truly think of another fantastic story to tell, I don't mind waiting another 5 years for a sequel.

Honestly, the free DLC pack giving us the "backstory" on the narrator.... still didn't really say much about him. In fact it was more about building the universe with a tad more mythology. Honestly, if they have the opportunity to expand his character, I'd love to find out what they do with it. A straight up sequel taking place after the only ending that could result in a continued timeline (you know what I'm talking about if you've beaten it), just doesn't feel right since I'm sure whatever surface world they could think of could never be quite as surreal or mesmerizing as the floating sky cities.

I'm happy and sad at the same time.
Good thing: New stuff, and Bastion will always be a fond memory.
Bad thing: No more Bastion. Sadface.

I honestly don't know whether to be sad or happy here. On the one hand, no more Bastion; no more lovely game. On the other we know that at least they won't spoil it with unnecessary sequels or milking for cash. I suppose that makes it somewhat purer, somehow? I don't know. I do like the idea of some other games, potentially nigh on being entirely unrelated to Bastion, set in the same world. It was bright, beautiful, exciting, and incredibly refreshing. Looking forward to see what else Supergiant can bring to the table.

Well it actually would be. Not as a story mode. Think Magickas challenge mode. 4 mates fending off waves of gasfellas and wild things with pickup weapons.

It would make an interesting DLC idea. And it's not like it's gonna ruin the story in any way shape or form.

But Lets just hope their next game is as fucking amazing as the first. I've still got that F'n' soundtrack playing in the background.
Yeah, I wouldn't argue that the style of gameplay doesn't support the concept, but he was basically saying that The Kid should have had an adventuring companion when one of your real-life friends wants to join in. No. Just no. Part of the presentation of the game revolved around the fact that you were pretty much the only guy left in the world that was capable of doing what you did in the game. Having another tag-along would have cheapened that.

A somewhat related story using the same setting as the game would be nice (before the game's events perhaps?) but I'm really glad a sequel isn't happening. Milking a game for all it's worth only serves to water down something that was originally pretty great.
