So not two weeks after the refund policy is in place, WB is roundly cock-slapped by their own incompetence and their investors who care only about profits.

I really really REALLY hope refunds bankrupt entire developers. Nothing like pure capitalism to determine survival of the fittest, eh?
This one may hurt WB more then you think(

Nivida put major dollars into the development, so they could have something to show off gameworks and give away with there new GPUs.

So there relationship is probably a bit shaky at this point, if this is not a quick fix, as this puts doubt on the adoption of gamesworks by devs that are not getting money for it.

I finally finished downloading it earlier and after playing a little I seem to be one of the lucky few that isn't experiencing issues. I do hope they get it patched soon to increase the stability for the people who are, I also hope that in the patch they change that stupid 30 fps cap because it makes the combat feel shit.

If this were Rocksteady - genuine attempt to fix the game.
Since this is Warner Bros - damage control.

Im not sure which is greater, my trust in Rocksteady or my distrust of Warner Bros. Thankfully I have other games in backlog and my copy was free with my new GPU so I have nothing to lose here. I waited a few years - I can wait another month or two while I finish the older games that have finally been patched to work properly...

You can remove the 30FPS cap through the .INI file. Who knows what systems they created with the intent of having it work at 30FPS tops, so change it at your own risk.

Ubisoft, EA, and apparently WB give less than a shit already so why should they care more now that PC gamers don't have to cross their fingers and wait for patches?
Well actually EA does care about the PC ports. They now sell them only on their own service Origin which has amazing customer support.

And yeah WB did not give a fuck the last time they had a bad Batman port with Arkham Origins. It was terrible and just as many people were complaining then as they are now. But there was no Steam Refunds then so WB was able to play the whole "Fuck you got ours" mentality and ignoring customers.

I posted this in another thread but this maybe more active.

Apparently for AMD card owners a beta driver was released on Monday specifically with optimisation for Arkham Knight. Only discovered it last night vastly improved performance but then I was already aalready e to play the game.

More likely it's WB asking stores to pull them from the shelves until the game is fixed.
The point had nothing to do with reality, but the way people react to things. Only a few months ago, people were screaming that GTA was "banned" in Australia, despite it not being true.

Just to be clear, we're talking about the same EA that launched its own return policy on its own service, voluntarily, well before the almighty Gaben descended from the heavens and gave it to Steam, right?

And you're worried that this is going to put them off making PC ports because....

Make a shit game and you don't survive to make a second.
I absolutely agree. Finally some checks and balances in place so the market can actually regulate itself again. Something it has been unable to do since the industry started pressuring retailers to stop accepting returns because of "piracy" which was just another way for them to get away with selling a shoddy product and shouldering no responsibility.

Back when Steam first issued their refund policy and subsequently started the debates around it, I remember thinking what might happen when a AAA release on Steam turns out a terrible PC port.

This is pretty much what happened here.

I'm hoping that this sends a message to devs and publishers that they can no longer get away with shitty PC ports.
