Also I disagree strongly with your description of Batman's personality. He's not rage filled or seeking vengeance. In current contituity (pre-DCnU) he actually got closure with Joe Chilly and indirectly caused his death. His motivating force is more ambition, he wants to end crime so no child will ever go through what he did. Batman isn't angry either more cold and clinical, "I am a surgeon and this is my operating theatre", to quote Frank Millar.

Agreed. Plus Hawkeye is the only person who has been a member of both the Avengers and Justice League.

I always saw Batman's cold, clinical persona as one aspect of his character. He's definitely got that rage thing going on, he just grew to manage it better. It was definitely a part of him earlier in his career. Perhaps he's grown mentally, but I think that helped shape him early on.
