So yeah. After reading that it sounds like they aren't going to change the okay endings (imho) or as most of you see it, horrible endings. Discuss.

Ugh, The arrogance is overwhelming. "We totally listen to our fans, we are aware that the internet has practically exploded with near unanimous hatred of our endings, spanning from very well formed arguments, to denial/speculation, and of course, to the usual opposite extremes. But of course that -must- mean that we're totally right, right?"

At this point I'm just done, I've been a Bioware fanboy for many years, but at that statement, the utter denial that they've done any wrong, despite all of the evidence being in the contrary, I'm just done. I quit, people who like the endings, you win, I'm not going to try and defend my stance any more, it's obvious that no matter how many people stand up, how well put, or even how juvenile our arguments are, they are just going to bury their heads in the sand and pretend everything's just goddamn dandy.

I quit, Bioware, you win, have fun with the rest of your games I won't be buying. I loved the Mass Effect series, I loved Dragon Age, I loved KOTOR and Baldur's Gate, every one of those was a very well told and engaging story. Hell I forgave you for Dragon Age 2 because I enjoyed the story that damn much. But if you're going to stand there, and tell the majority of your fanbase that you purposefully made those shitty endings that bad, and not even have the grace to admit that you effed up... fuck this I quit.

Captcha: "time will tell" I... what... how... okay, now you're just screwing with me. GET OUT OF MY HEAD!

I get the feeling your statement already mirrors so many of Bioware's fans (or ex fans) that this will seriously harm them and possibly end them. I already left them when they pulled this crap with SWTOR and basically told me as a KOTOR1&2 fan they were going to exploit me and ruin the characters I built up throughout the games. Also agreed some of these captchas are getting weird.

The only glimmer of hope are these circulating rumours about a secret "17th ending." Mayeb this will complete validate those endings and change my opinion, but honestly, that is a very faint hope, and I simply lack the strength and determination to keep fighting this losing battle.

I guess I was fortunate in that I never actually played KOTOR 2, and never met Revan in SWTOR, so my memory of both are fairly clear. KOTOR was awesome, and SWTOR was a passable if not particularly memorable MMO that pulled off a pretty unique mechanic.

Assuming I read that correctly, his excuse for the ending scene was that it would be unforgettable. That's only a good thing when what we remember is actually good. You don't want the people you rely on for income to remember you for awful writing. You're Bioware, you are known in the industry for your writing. That is your niche, and you just showed everyone you suck at it.

Edit: Some one already mentioned this, but I feel a need to elaborate. The questions were too 'soft' They shouldn't have asked about the reaction to the ending, they should have asked about the outrage to the ending. They gave him a soft question enabling him to dodge it.

Tbh, i'd be more critical of whoever conducted that interview. Softest questions ever.
The problem with giving harsh questions to someone during an interview is they'd likely not come back for a subsequent one. Getting traffic is important for these sites and not pissing off major famous developers is a good way to get it.

If that's the truth then yeah so am I. If this is the ending we're gonna get. I'm not spending one more penny on them. I'm gonna go get wallet fucked by City of Heroes instead....wait.

And my Captcha was: $10 Dollar Pizza. HOW DO THEY KNOW I WAS HUNGRY!!? o_O

Well they did say they will construct Single Player DLC according to fan feedback. And the only single player DLC fans will be willing to buy is the one that fixes their shitty ending. Seriously, who'd want to buy any other kind of DLC? It is pointless to replay this game, and any other Mass Effect game if the ending remains the same.

Oh yeah I understand that.

But surely some follow up questions could/should of been asked.

I'm not thinking something as abrasive as - "So....the ending....WHAT THE FUCK WERE YOU THINKING?" - although I know some users here would of preferred that.

More along the lines of actually asking questions that directly relate to parts of the ending, the rumoured older/alternate ending regarding Dark Matter, etc etc.

While its true that he side steps the question and while he also doesnt admit that bioware screwed up, he ALSO doesnt rule out a changed ending "But Hudson failed to suggest that the trilogy's finale may be changed through a patch or DLC" That just means he didnt say anything about it, he didnt rule it out and if they do this, i personally think that people will just be angrier. Here in Australia we paid $110 for the standard edition ($130 for N7) But if they do this and release DLC to get the "true" Ending we will be expected to pay for it, which is a ridiculous concept in itself as we have already paid full retail for the game, to have to buy the ending for a game after purchasing the full game is a money grab in itself, the unfortunate thing is alot of people (including myself) would buy it anyway because i would prefer to know how they would change it, and see how the changes would be effected by my decisions. Personally im kind of a bioware fan, i liked SWKoTOR, Mass Effect and Baldurs Gate, but the ending here is just meh, i have put over 100 hours into my shepard, and to have it end with no actual conclusion or any idea what happened to everything after i destroyed the reapers is such a let down.

He has the balls to announce single player DLC?
Nobody is going to buy it Mr Hudson.
I don't even know what to say anymore.

So Bioware is trying to piss it's fans off. There is no way they could be this incompetent, the only possible explanation I can think of is that EA is annoyed that people think Ubisoft is more incompetent than them so they are determined to prove them wrong.

"Oh, we pay very close attention to it. It?s very important to us and we will always listen to feedback, interpret it and try and do the right thing by our fans."

"I didn?t want the game to be forgettable, and even right down to the sort of polarizing reaction that the ends have had with people?debating what the endings mean and what?s going to happen next, and what situation are the characters left in. That to me is part of what?s exciting about this story."

Clearly they can't be paying that close attention or he would notice that people aren't debating, they are raging. And since when has making half your fanbase hate you been a good thing?

Also, as a side note, he put "ends" and "endings" when he meant to put "end" and "ending".

Ugh. If they don't change the ending, I'm seriously contemplating putting my Mass Effect 3 discs through a shredder and mailing one to Casey Hudson and one to Ray Muzyka.

I may or may not shit in Hudson's box.

Well, I can boil this down to a T.

Bioware, if you don't implement a patch or at the very most, some cheap(400msp, $4) DLC, that reprimands the ending choices so many of us expected, be that a coherent and specific one, I will almost certainly never buy a game from you again under the knowledge that you are unable to deliver our request for a solid and enjoyable ending to a solid and enjoyable trilogy; instead standing by a Lost / Matrix Revolutions / HR ending.

It's like taking me out to dinner, then booting me in the bollocks and kneeing me in the face after we're done. Then saying you intended to do it to make our next dinner oh that much more enjoyable.
