This was just a random thing that popped into my head.
Just a random musing there.
Discussion value:
These alien invasion movies (not including District 9) like Battle: Los Angeles or Independence Day, are they made in a similar vain to zombie movies where everyone, so the characters and the audience, know exactly who the bad guy is and we can all kick collective butt and wave flags and live happily ever after?
Or is it purely for the money? And if it is that why does it make money? Or is it yet another reason?
One last thing:
A game you could play when seeing Battle: Los Angeles is to pretend that it is District 9 II
Spoilers ahead
Assuming that the aliens in District 9 weren't slaves or whatever race they were from got pissed about what happened to them and wanted to retaliate or get vengeance they should have superior firepower/technology. [Img_Inline width="200" Caption="Remember the 'Man Exploding Gun'?" And given what Multinational United did to the 'prawns' whatever is invading would have a fairly genuine grievance as to why they would attack.Just a random musing there.
