What is your method of surviving or rather, winning Battle Royal?
For those of you unfamiliar with the concept or the original manga or the movie loosely based on that graphic novel, Battle Royal is when a class of similar aged kids are put on an abandoned island which is three kilometers in area. Each competitor is given a bag which contains food, water, a map and a weapon. These weapons may vary from axes and scythes to guns and crossbows, although some weapons aren't offensive, such as a scanner which shows the position of nearby enemies or a bulletproof vest. Every contestant is wearing a collar, which can relay their position and medical condition, these can also be detonated if they try to leave the island or try to infiltrate the base in the center of the island. The competition lasts three days, although the second that there is just one survivor, the game ends. If there is no winner after three days all of the collars are detonated. The island is divided into zones, and there are certain zones that are called 'death zones' and if you stay in them for too long, your collar will be detonated. The terrain is also very varied on the island, from mountains to lush jungles to huge cliffs. There are also several buildings on the island, from slum type housing to warehouses and a lighthouse.
Now that the central concept has been introduced, what would you do to survive, bear in mind that it will be your classmates that you will be pitted against.
For more detail, also what actually happens in the story, have a look at the manga or the film, the manga has much more detail but the film is good at showing the basic idea of what happens.

I would much rather take my own life on day one, than to kill classmates/friends/love interests and live to tell the tale.

I know this gets done a few times in the first movie as well, but I'd go that way too. Even if you make it out alive, you'll leave the thing completely destroyed emotionally.

I wouldn't fancy my chance, and I think I would realize that. So I'd keep moving and only hope that my death is awesome.

Be the first one called, hide by the exit door of the building, kill all the others at the very beginning right as they exit.

Start the conspiracy to escape and get back at the SOB's behind it. Kiriyama was a powerhouse in the manga due to his brain damage that negated emotion, but as far as my friends go, no one is brain damaged like that. I don't think I'd have a problem convincing everyone to figure out how to escape without killing anyone.

Get an alliance of well trusted individuals, and basically act as supreme general. I don't think I could get away with killing my allies, so we'd basically all say "Hey, we won, it's a tie". If it does come down to that, I think my idea would to tell my team to report to a place where there were bombs rigged to it and they couldn't escape.

There is no "original manga". The only original work when it comes to Battle Royale (which by the way ends with an e, not an l) is the novel by Koushun Takami. And the movie was not "loosely based on that graphic novel". It was based on the book, not the manga.

On topic; I'd date Kazuo Kiriyama and hope for the best.

Well atm my college class is

me and 3 other lads 1 of them is 47 the other 2 19 and 20.

Theres 3 girls between the ages of 19-24.

So i guess it would be slim pickings and the chance of them winning compared to me is easy XD

OT:Epic epic manga/film and book.

This is incredibly nit-picky, but Battle Royale was a novel, not a manga. It may have been adapted into a manga, but I'm not sure on that. The films awesome of course. And sorry, I just nit-pick like that about stuff.

OT: Errr... Suicide.
I'm so friending you.
OT: Why? How do you figure that suicide would be a good survuval tactic?

Yeah, that didn't end too well for the guy who did that in the book. True he was fairly incompetent but then again who of us wouldn't be in said situation.
Personally I would go with a similar plan to Shogo. Befriend people, help each other out till the end and then betray them and kill them. Of course, it would help i had insane skills like Shinji but i don't. All i have is what i picked up from cadets, watching ray mears and what my grandfather taught me (he was in the malayan scouts so he knew some good tips for survivng in the jungle) and what i read in the SAS survival handbook.

Quickly head to any visible building or building of high interest, such as the lighthouse. Make sure to block any exits but one. If I have a gun, I will hide behind some barrier made by me to protect from bullets and gernades. If I don't, hide next to the door, and try to kill any that comes into the room. If I only have a passive "weapon" (the bullet proof vest or the motion sensor) break a higher up window to have a simple glass knife, take any board and put nails in it, then repeat the process as if I didn't have a gun. As soon as I have a good amount of ammo and a long enough ranged weapon, go to the top of the tower and snipe from their. That should either keep the others away from my position, in fear of death, or should attract them as soon as they notice the island is getting sparsely populated, and they need to get to me. I would have both the defenders and high ground advantage, making it very hard to kill me.

Basically I would be the camper of the island.

Here's my strategy: I kill everybody before they have a chance to kill me.
Flawless strategy, no? ;)
