Depends on what weapon I get in my bag.

Gun: Conserve ammo and hide until I get a clear shot of anyone that is unlikely to be a good ally. If possible I would form a team of friends and try to kill the bastards behind it all. Otherwise we would just kill the other groups that would no doubt form.

Knife: Slice the throat of the guy or girl behind me, nick his bag and hide close to the startpoint to observe the others, then follow someone that has a gun and then work on my original/gun plan.

Worthless/Neutral: Grab a fairlysized branch and smack the next one over the head and steal their bag, then leave them. After that work from what i got in that bag and move my arse to a safe position.

*EDIT*
Woo! Thread revival! ^^

I smell the stench of rotting thread. Anyone else smell the stench of rotting thread?

OT: I'd befriend the most Yuno like person in the class. Because if you've watched Mirai Nikki, you'll know how effective Yuno is.

Hmmmm.

...

Keep a low profile and stay on the move. Take the opportunity to pick off any loners when I absolutely know I have the advantage. Let the others do most of the work and focus on keeping out of sight.

Use this time to set traps and diversions and plan ahead for the endgame. Once the numbers are low, start playing offensively. Try to isolate and blitz them. Wear out and disorient the last one and take the kill quickly.

Rely on stealth, speed, fear and the element of surprise. Take only what I'll need and keep myself light and always hide the bodies.

One thing i do know is not to trust my best friends.
THey are all strong smart people and would probably deceive me to survive.
That is what i love about them but in a battle royale situation, i would kill them off first.

Manipulate people into thinking I'm weak and defenseless, then kill them when their guard is down.

Depends on the other people but my main chance for winning this would be a lot of luck.
Also if it's someone I know I wouldn't kill them...

If I had a core group of people I could trust, I would team up with them. Otherwise I'd just stay out of sight and take people out stealthily. As they say in HvZ, John Rambo dies on the first day. Solid Snake lives to the final battle.

Edit: Gah, necro.

Sure this has been necro but I want to partake!

Regardless on how powerful/ useful my weapon is, I will pretty much commit sucide. God knows what the other kids weapons are to killed me (which make make my death more painfuul) and I'm going to be killed by the collar anyway.

Ok sure I can try to hide/ camp it out but I also lack the surival skill too (how to hunt or make fire etc).

Well if it was my high school class, I get my small group of friends together and hope they work out a plan to escape... But I know they probably wouldn't. Of course I'd double cross them, if the choice is kill or die, regrettably I'm going to kill.

What is your method of surviving or rather, winning Battle Royal?
For those of you unfamiliar with the concept or the original manga or the movie loosely based on that graphic novel...
There is no "original manga". The only original work when it comes to Battle Royale (which by the way ends with an e, not an l) is the novel by Koushun Takami. And the movie was not "loosely based on that graphic novel". It was based on the book, not the manga.

On topic; I'd date Kazuo Kiriyama and hope for the best.
Oh but having read both, the Manga is sooooo much better even with the flaws in the translation bit. The emotions of the characters and the like, and the Author himself says he prefers the Manga adaptation of his work.

I have the ultimate editions sitting on display atop my TV set right now.

well, this strategy comes from an old 'Strontium Dog' episode in 2000 AD (the graphic novel with Judge Dredd for those that dont know the old school). Theres a contest starting with 400 contestants, they kill each other, last man standing wins a billion Zeddies. An android known as Steelkreeg dispassionately calculates the odds and hides in a tower. They start at 400 to one, but as other contestants wipe each other out, they drop. A caption holds, 'Steelkreeg is no dumb android' to which id agree. Get down to 1 person left, the odds are 1 to 1 and that person will be exhausted and perhaps wounded. Battle Royale has danger zones to prevent this so the best draw would be the scanner, showing locations of other contestants, which can be avoided. One can be ambushed and a fire arm obtained. Then wait for there to be just one, sneak up on dude an take him out.
There is, however, also a time limit that prevents this as well. After the third day everyone's collar explodes so you don't want to have to be hunting down a large group of people if the fighting is still going on.

Find a suitable weapon, hide in a forested area and then stealth kill people when I get the chance. I'd move as little as possible, only when the danger zones force me to. I'd hope that most of the other competitors kill each other. I'm too paranoid to join a group, I wouldn't trust anyone for a moment >.>

Wow, old thread is old.

I would hide away and put all my efforts into working out how to malfunction or remove the collar: Water damage, tampering, physically smacking it between two rocks, etc. If I managed to get the collar off I'd work on escaping the island, or more likely since I'm a crap swimmer just try and infiltrate the 'central zone'.

If I achieve all that and get into the central zone where the organisers are... then and only then... It's fighty time!

Nothing.

I would whole-heartedly accept death. I can't fight. I don't want to fight. And there's that book I really want to finish.

I suppose I could finish it in three days.

I take the gun and try to set up a killzone of my own. I wouldn't have the skills to make any Predator style traps but I would totally try and rig up some sort of warning system. Hunker down and fight like a cornered animal. Bludgeon people to death if they get too close for a clean kill shot.

I do think I have a bit of an advantage over my film student compatriots but I'm not going to let that confidence get to me.

Cool and collected. Panic = Death.

This is one heck of a necro.
