Depends on whether or not I have the opportunity to prepare before actually coming into contact with my opponent.
If I do, I'll pick guns, find a vantage point suited to the specific gun I receive, set as many snares and noisemakers around it as the local vegetation and terrain allows, and camouflage myself in order to wait my opponent out. Few people have my patience, and only a small percentage of people on this planet have a clue how to deal with forests anymore.
If not, I'll pick melee. Statistically speaking I am likely to have a strength and/or agility advantage. In spite of that, I'm reluctant to go this route, mostly because weaponized hand to hand combat between people that don't know what they're doing, like me, is both dangerous and chaotic, and anyone used to fighting is likely to tear me apart, almost regardless of age and physical condition.

Well if you fighting someone who isn't a very good shot and you are, then its hardly an equalizer. I'm damn good with a gun so I'd rather do that then something I'm not so good in.Champthrax said:

Melee weapons, mainly for the reason that they seem more civilized and elegant than just pointing at something, squeezing your hand, and watching it drop.

I'm going to go with melee and hope to god we are fighting with a katana, what ever the Korean sword is called(I should really know this seeing as I am learning kum-do), or Japanese sword or any sword along those lines. I am built to be quick and agile(and i might become those things if I ever start working out). If it is a knife fight or European swords I am screwed but really I was firing a .22 and my target looked like I fired a shotgun. I would try to be stealthy seeing as I am thin and average height and am decent at moving silently.
Firearm because that's the only thing that I know I could take people on with. I have a pretty good shot, even with a shitty BB gun that has god awful sights, so a deadly gun with more accurate sights should be easier to hit targets. Also, I figure there are more people that have never fired a gun than have and know how to shoot in the world. I am part of the latter group and have a vague grasp on firearms.

I'd say hand-to-hand. I've trained in boxing and I've got some street-fighting experience so I think I could hold my own fairly well.
