Probably not, but that's purely down to a declining interest in in games from my point of view.

I loved (and still love) BF3, it's probably my favourite online shooter for Xbox, even with the near unforgivable server cock up that makes it nigh on impossible to find a good game. Once you do get a good server though, it's still fantastic.

I've not bothered with the 3 most recent DLC packs, but the ones I do have have been enjoyable and added decent modes and guns. I can only see BF4 going further down the DLC road though - I dont have the time or money to keep up with that.

In all honesty, I dont see what it could offer to me over BF3. They improved and changed so much on the Bad Company games, but I would expect any changes in BF to be incremental and largely insignificant. Not that I can read the future...

Battlefield's multiplayer has always been amazing, DICE deserves my respect and my money, more so if this is a next gen Battlefield that will take full advantage of my powerful PC rather than being tailored for decade old consoles.

That said, DICE is now the only developer EA has that I will buy from, because something clearly went very wrong over at Bioware. I blame this mostly on the lead writer on a lot of their best games leaving, I mean when a company is all about it's stories, and you take away the guy who was writing those stories... Though EA's business practices also caused the company to take a hit due to my time on the Old Republic, both the way it was dragged out when I was a subscriber at launch, but also more so how F2P was basically a slap in the face demanding money, even if you'd been there from day one.

Mind you, I'm not a blind follower, and I've been observing this 'premium edition' trend in Battlefield over two games now (BC2 and 3), and frankly it's a shitty business practice that will likely make me refuse to buy at launch, rather waiting until all the DLC is out to buy a cheap premium copy.

At the end of the day though, regardless of how evil the publisher, a good game is a good game. Battlefield's multiplayer has always been quite the spectacle, in fact it's so good that it draws my generally single-player-RPG-loving ass to it (The only other Multi-player game I've gotten so in to is Natural Selection 2). So long as the quality of that doesn't drop (or get claustrophobic to match CoD's clusterfuck-style) people will always be interested.

I guess I will have to see what it is like. To me BF3 was a huge step back from Bad Company 2, yes the graphics were better, but everything else was a step in the wrong direction.

Im tired of the MMS genre. Sci-Fi or near future games are better, that way there can be a little more imagination in the game instead of what is/ isn't possible right now.

As a British I would think you'd know how disturbing that name is Oo. Especially considering that most spunkgarglers (the players of spunkgargleweewee games) are CoD kiddies. Kids. Children.

Pedophile-ish, aint it.

I do. I play BF3 all the time with my friends, it's the only game we can play together on because its the only MMS I will buy. I have bought all the map packs for the game, and still play it a couple hours every other week. So yes, I do care and look toward seeing some gameplay footage.

I second this motion.

I second the motion!

OT:
To be honest, BF3 was kinda disappointing for me, I liked BC2 a lot more.
I'll definitely check out BF4 and see what direction it will be going, but I'm guessing its gonna be an upgraded version of BF3 considering how fast they put it out after 3. Might be getting it cheap when its reduced somewhere, Ill surely wait a while just to see that they don't pull that "Premium" bullshit again.

I think your quote function must be broken since I didn't say the word 'spunkgargler' which you seem to have quoted me as saying.

Also, as I am British, and since I am well aware that Yahtzee started this word, I think it's quite simple to understand what spunkgargleweewee means when describing certain MMS games like BF, COD, and Medal Of Honor: too many of them, and completely boring and stupid now compared to 5 or 6 years ago.

Aye, call it a modern shooter or something less.... Silly.

OT: Oh god another one? Ever gonna think of a new IP EA or you just gonna keep milking the same old shit....

There is only so much variation you can put on shooters, and it ran out of good variations quite a while ago.

I imagine a lot of people do. Battlefield 3 was a fine game and is still very popular.

I am with you on this one as well. Its a stupid term that doesnt mean anything and only serves to make the user sound like a pretentious dick.

I am kinda excited. I like Battlefield 3, but felt like kinda a let down with everything in it on consoles. Maybe if I have a PC for it when it comes out I'll be more excited.
EDIT:

This isn't new or exclusive to this game series or generation. It's been happening since the day of expansion packs. Look at the old Blizzard Battle Chests. Should I be mad that someone who waited can buy those games for cheaper than me? No. Because I got to play it sooner.

I.

OT: I'll wait to see what they come up with before decrying, not to mention I have a beta demo pass. But I'm distrusting of EA since Warfighter and even BF3 was a large disappointment.

I enjoyed the multiplayer, however the hitboxes and weapons just seemed... off. I much enjoyed Bad Company 2's multiplayer a lot more. It felt... better. At least the guns/Hitboxes did.

If they fix those two issues, I will be a very happy PC Gamer :D
Bad Company 2 felt much more directed. It knew what it was and wasn't trying to appeal to the CoD market, it was just it's own thing and to this day it's my favourite multiplayer shooter.

Know what it was?

Collapsing buildings and blowing up ALL THE STUFF. That's why it was better.

Edit: We need more World War 2 up in here. World War 2 game in the Bad Company 2 frostbite engine with around 300 players? Yeah, that'll be some epic conquest there.

I liked BF3 a lot until they started that rent-a-server bullshit. I'll hold my tongue on BF4 until they announce if they're going to include that (they more than likely will).

I found BF3 more ugly. Yeah it was more realistic but it was also too shiny and the lighting was generally annoying if impressive. In terms of aesthetic I much prefer the semi-cartoony approach of Bad Company 2, much more pleasing to look at.

And what do you prefer; dynamic flashlight to hurt your eyes as the SMG prick mows you down on the grinder maps, or more dynamic demolition of buildings.

I played BF1942 before Vietnam came out and have enjoyed the newer version each time. I didn't play 2142, the demo was fun but I didn't really enjoy it that much. I threw probably 2 years of my life into infantry only Karkand in BF2.

To piss everyone off: I thought Bad Company 2 was crap. I didn't play Bad Company 1 so Bad Company 2 was the first game that turned Battlefield into a CoD look alike. BF2 had like 6-7 classes, only 4 different weapons for each class, and had PLANES AND PRONE CONTROL. The first game had PLANES AND PRONE CONTROL. Then Bad Company 2 comes out, I am leveling up every match, unlocking redicuous weapons (MG42 is one of the best weapons in the game, so is the Garand and TommyGun).

After acquiring a bunch of stupid perks and weapons, I wanted to fly a plane around for a bit, and learned DICE cut that, probably for the console players benefit. Took the prone command away too, single keystroke was too hard for DICE to implement? Also no bot support.

BF3 was an improvement on BC2. They brought back the huge maps, brought back planes, brought back prone, brought back the classic maps. More logical classes (STILL ONLY 4, WHAT HAPPEND TO MAKING THE NEXT GAME BIGGER?)

BF3 also suffered even moreso from CoD's unnecessary crap, the perks weren't as overpowered, you can't get an ammo upgrade that makes snipers 1 hit kills like in BC2, but now there is a long unlock system, even more dumb weapons, and STILL NO BOT SUPPORT.

Now that Battlefield seems to be EA's version of CoD with constant releases I am pretty much done.

The only way I am going to care about BF4 about BF4 would be if they: added bots back, added more than 4 classes, and allowed Steam purchase. If Origin lasts a few years I will probably buy BF4 if its like 10 bucks but I am not excited at all for BF4. BF3 was a great game, but it doesn't seem like it will be improved on with BF4, only extended which is stupid, BF3 is a massive game.

I found BF3 to be really poor looking overall. At least on the console. Even with the texture pack I had to buy a harddrive to install it looked like shit.
