So I received BF4 as a Christmas gift and until now not experienced any issues and was kind of wondering what that lawsuit was all about and then after completing around 70% of the campaign this was when the game decided to fuck me over and corrupt my save. Anyone else have this issue?

This is and has been a known issue, there was a recent patch that was supposed to lessen the chances of it happening. It sucks and there's really nothing you can do to recover the save.

Have EA heard of this thing called QA testing?

I feel your pain, its happened to me as well. If you have 6+ hours to get through the game, you can beat it in a sitting, or just wait until it's actually fixed.

My first thought was I hadn't selected a device, reloaded the game and realized the game had screwed my save up and I went full on Rage Quit. At least it gives me and excuse to grab all the collectibles.

Oh boy, don't go near the MP yet then.
You think the single player is broken? You've seen nothing yet. :p

What platform are you on? If you're playing on Playstation and are a PS+ member, you can upload your save to the cloud after a session and get it back if needed later. Alternatively, playing the campaign with your system completely offline should stop this happening. Alternatively, don't play BF4 with your system connected to the 'net in any way until you complete the campaign though. The save file vanishes as soon as you connect to Battlelog.

That sucks man. I've been playing it on the PS4 and despite experiencing crashes in the single player I haven't had any serious problems with the game. Haven't had any problems with the MP either aside for the fact that for some reason I wasn't able to enter any match on the first day that I wanted to play multiplayer, it was probably just server issues.

Uh, they...skipped a lot of that to rush the game out. If the single-player mode is doing this to you, I wouldn't even bother with the multi-player one. It's nothing but grief.

Last night the EA servers were taken down by derptrolling. That might have something to do with your save data being lost. I know some of my multiplayer progress got rolled back because of it.

As much as I hate to say it, Battlefield 4 is just not a well made game. As with many games that have loads of problems, it is likely a very good game at it's core, but it has so many problems both in single player and multiplayer that it's nearly unplayable. I could write a book about the problems with multiplayer and I could write a series of books detailing examples of when they have happened to me. As for the single player, I have gotten save files deleted and collectible dog tags/weapons also deleted during those saves which are supposed to save separately from the actual file. I get a type of lag sometimes in the single player which feels similar to the crappy servers in multiplayer. It really is a huge problem.
