I second this opinionthenumberthirteen said:WWII is FAR more interesting than Modern Conflict. It was war on an epic scale never seen before or since. Sure fictional modern war can be fun, but the realisation that all the things you're doing in a good Historical WWII game actually happened really touches me.
Yeah was thinking the same, and there's a Garand in there too. I think it could be an interesting idea too, the notion of WWII combat itself doesn't bore me, but another whole game based on it would, so just a quick few missions could work well.WestMountain said:That explains why they bothered to have an unlockable Tommy gun in multiplayer, because they just could copy&paste it from singleplayer easily :]
Try it out on one of the consoles if you can, it's definitely worth it. Best Battlefield since BF2. Drill combat is much the same on each platform.John Funk said:Well that'd be cool and all if I could actually get the beta to work right :/
Actually, me and the BF:BC players in my clan killed many a vehicle (and a few people) with the drills. It's great against vehicles.Viruzzo said:Drill combat was present in the first game too: it did such a low damage that it was impossible to kill anyone, except maybe distracted snipers and vehicles on 1% health.
Defib however is decent as a weapon: even if not as good as the knife, it's worth to use it instead in melee only for the humiliating factor.
Open across the platforms, my good chum.ChromeAlchemist said:Is the beta still closed or is it open now??
Well it's "great" against vehicles like "worse than any firearm and explosive weapon", so basically "better than the knife and the medikit". Any decent driver can easily avoid drill damage by moving (and possibly running over the offending support), something you should do anyway unless you want to be reduced to confetti by a C4 wielding spezi.Joshimodo said:Actually, me and the BF:BC players in my clan killed many a vehicle (and a few people) with the drills. Yeah, seeing as the driver wouldn't notice for a few moments, and that is does considerably more damage than you seem to imagine/remember. Plus, the moving or killing Support thing is laughable. If you're being attacked by drillers, chances are you're in a town/crowded area where you can't move around. Plus, good luck killing the offending drillers while in the tank, and good luck surviving the hail of gunfire and knives if you step out.Viruzzo said:Well it's "great" against vehicles like "worse than any firearm and explosive weapon", so basically "better than the knife and the medikit". Well, I can't say I really ever used offensive drilling (I mainly run demo and spezi), but at least I can say that I've never been drilled to death (maybe, like once) in vehicles (and never in melee), so it wasn't really that popular (on Euro servers, from Italy).Joshimodo said:Yeah, seeing as the driver wouldn't notice for a few moments, and that is does considerably more damage than you seem to imagine/remember.
