To be honest, after learning that there would be pay to win microtransactions, I just don't want to fucking touch the game. If it's crap, I save myself the time, and if it's good despite the microtransactions, it's best I don't tempt myself.
Final verdict. Sound 10/10
Graphics 10/10
Controls 8/10
Gameplay 3/10
Rounds are too short, objectives feel empty, no room to maneuver, maps are way to small and then again it's over. Might bargain bin it if the campaign is good. Could have been fixed with a large conquest map edition, but nope.
It won't change from beta to full so I give it 3/10.

Didn't bother with the first EAFront, not bothering with this one.
Someone needs to stuff a thermal detonator up EA's exhaust port. I'll stick with Pandemic's Battlefront. Have them both for PS2, might have to get the second one from Steam for the mod support. And there are new MP servers for it, too, so go play Pandemic's Battlefront II and leave this EA trash to rot.
EDIT: I wonder, did anyone ever make a Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction-themed mod/conversion for Pandemic's Battlefront II? I feel like Mercs and Pandemic's BF games might have been on the same engine... Or at least very similar ones.

I'd have to go digging around somewhere like ModDB or something, which could take a while. I'm not up to it tonight, but if anyone else wants to go looking, knock yourself out.
It feels like a shitty, downsized Battlefield with a Star Wars paintjob and awful controls.
Playing in third person feels terrible. Can't put my finger on why exactly, but it doesn't work one bit.
Vehicles all control like shit. In particular the mouse & keyboard controls for aircraft are phenomenally bad. The slightest movement of the mouse sends you careening across the screen no matter what I do with the settings. Flying with a controller is tolerable but imprecise.
Despite all that I could almost enjoy it except the map that comes with the beta is terrible. It starts out okay-ish, but then transitions into nothing but a few tiny corridors and chokepoints that make for an instant spam-fest.
I don't particularly care about the loot boxes but I am a little shocked that the same studio that made Battlefield 1 managed to churn out this piece of shit.
I was actually thinking about buying this. Guess I should be thankful to the beta for saving me the $90.
Downloaded 20+ gigs and quit within as many minutes. It was downright painful. Felt clunky and just...fuckin' wrong. Third person handles like a floaty, imprecise trainwreck and vehicles are all over the place.
Was debating a purchase too, prior to this, but it's a definite no now.
