Battlestar Glactica 2004-2009

I was going to start watching this, but in the very first episode, the pilot, it starts with "previously in BSG...". Now, I know that this is a remake of a show that was created decades ago, but do I need to watch something beforehand?

The previous events they mention in that first episode relate to the Cylon invasion of the "space humans" homeworld. Does the show really start from there, or is there some previous movie or show I should watch first? Also, they show scenes with some characters as if I should know them, like the blonde woman arguing with the scientist just before the building's windows blow up.

I is confuzzled. Help?

Yea if I think you're watching it from where I think you are then you are missing episode 0.

I think you havent watched the miniseries. I did that too, itd probably be better to find a copy of it before continuing on.

Yes. Watch the miniseries first. It is a really good show and you wont be able to stop after the first few episodes.
