When you're 14 they're fucking awesome. When you hit your adulthood they're even more fucking awesome. Also, sport a chinstrap. Or, grow a handlebar mustache, or captain price mustache, I'm pretty much aiming for the Captain Price look, cos y'know, its Captain Price.

Depends on the face, but they usually imply coolness and wisdom. Culturally speaking at least.
Amongst those, it also implies that the bearded one has great sexual potency, a knack for leadership and a great sense of authority. That's why all male (and some female) monarchs up till the 19th century pretty much all had big, bushy beards or some other form of facial hair. That, and the bullet-resistant effect of beards always comes in handy.

In modern days, however, it is often associated with: Not being able to shave or to buy shaving equipment, a loving tendency towards trees and a out-of-touch-with-the-world-attitude. This is not the case if you have a neatly trimmed beard, that screams "I can take care of my facial hair and prevent it from taking over my face and mind, so you can count on me!" Which is true. Because I've heard so. On TV. So it must be true.

Being the owner of a majestic moustache/beard combo, I must admit that it looks fantastic and it's a sign of masculinity/strength since ancient times.

Although on some people it doesnt look all that good.

What makes it even better is the audience's reaction when he shows the beard-door xD

Super-cool, obviously. Every guy I've ever been out with has had a beard. One shaved his off and we broke up a week later. Speaking of which, does anyone else find the picture of Yahtzee on the previous page incredibly hot?

He wouldn't be if he didn't have a beard. Point proven.

I think they can be awesome on the right person. If they get so awesome they may set themself on fire.

Wouldn't facial hair theoretically be popular with the ladies since it would provide a tickling sensation (along with all the other sensations) during sex?

Couldn't facial hair also count as a form of reverse youth? Like in the olden days and ancient times, beards were a sign of maturity and adulthood. Whereas in this mildy psychotic/delusional culture where a single gray hair or wayward bristle is met with profound horror by those aging who are scared shitless of death, having a beard or mustache can be a sign of youth in that people who are old wouldn't be caught dead with a sign of aging?

I might not have explained it right so to paraphrase; beards=young clean shaven=old

by the way, to any who can answer, what is a neck-beard precisely?

I like my beard, but I keep it trimmed very short, or else it grows out looking like Kimbo Slice =\.

Some look better with facial hair, others don't. If you have a baby face, don't bother.

As a pure Mediterranean I look amazing with it by default so I can't really speak for everyone.
