Contra on the NES may not be the hardest game ever made, in fact it's one of the easiest games with the word Contra in it; but, it's still hard enough that everyone with the proper finger and thumb callouses could recite to you the 30 lives code off-hand.
So I issue this challenge to anyone manly and shirtless enough to accept it: Beat Contra, right now. No Konami code, no savestates or emulator aid, and no continues. All who will accomplish this will surely be known to all as a worthy opponent at any button-related activity!

I've only just managed this feat myself earlier this very week.
And for those who don't have Contra on hand, tell us about a game you were never able to beat for many years, and finally took head on. For example: finally beating Zelda 2 or TMNT on NES, both are games that everyone played but so very few beat, I've never even beaten the latter.
P.S. Anyone who can beat Contra: Hard Corps must have the thumbs of a god.
