You know when you have one of those really beautiful and enlightening dreams, that ultimately make you feel depressed when you wake up out of them ? I usually have bad/weird dreams by majority, but whenever i get one of these they really do feel amazing.

If i can describe it properly - A dream where you find yourself in a really carefree/beautiful environment and you just feel extremely calm and happy, almost like you suddenly somehow understand the meaning of life. Wonderful music tends to play in my head also.

One of the most recent dreams of this nature i had i will try to explain. The other week i had a dream i was just in my house ordinarily but it was really sunny outside, so sunny it was beautiful but surreal at the same time, it's also raining so lightly its almost like powder. Anyway, i find that there isn't anyone in my house so i go outside and can't find anyone there either. I just start walking up the street in my neighborhood in this bright sunlight that makes the trees and plants rich in color. The song "Sunshine on a Rainy Day" starts playing in my head too with perfect match on the scenery, i hadn't heard the song for years and didn't really like it but now after this one dream i actually do. I generally just walk up my street with this feel of perfect understanding i can't really explain.

After writing it up it sounds so made up, but i guarantee you i have these dreams and they blow my mind. Surely im not the only one so who else wants to share their dreams ? I would love to hear them.

Oh and i don't smoke anything in case your pondering to ask.

Last night, I had a dream that I was hunting rabid raccoons the size of bears and they would dig tunnels like gophers.

It was awesome.

Usually fre-falling into nothing, and landing in a big, empty ocean (and I can breahte underwater).
Or.
When I dream that snow is heavily coming down in sheets, and it's as warm as jacuzzi water.

Beautiful? Rarely.
But about 25-30% of the dreams I remember seem to take place in a part of the same cohesive setting. And while the place was the stuff of nightmares early on (often ending in what you might call the point of death), it's as if my psyche has managed to cobble out a reasonable existence there. I think it might have something to do with feeling less helpless in real life.
In any event, what was once terrifying is now more atmospheric (I won't bore with details), and I occasionally realize I'm back while still dreaming. It's those times that I actually enjoy the ride, and hope I go back the following night.

But the next dream is usually about traffic tickets or losing my wallet. Inconsistency stinks.

I was blowing shit up with my mind, does that count? If not there was a particular sex dream that was pretty enlightening, and I wasn't too thrilled to be awakened from that.

Beautiful? If I described my idea of a beautiful dream, I might get banned.

Most of them though are just weird. Fun, yes, but definitely weird.

Lynchian almost.

I have really good dreams sometimes, and then wake up thinking they were terrible ones.

My mind is broken...

This might sound corny, but one dream actually gave an idea to springboard a story from. The dream involved two lovers, two universes, time travel, war, and loads of other cool stuff. I woke up from it with this overwhelming feeling as if I had just left a world I didn't want to leave just yet, which then proceeded with my desire to create a story from it.

Most of my dreams, however, usually involve zombies and/or the apocalypse, but I don't react to them as nightmares. Instead, I seem to be the hero of these dreams, and I enjoy my time in them, even if turrible stuff happens in them.

Ha! I guess that means I shouldn't describe mine either.

Any dream that isn't really bizarre to the point that I can't describe it or horrific are just strange or tragic variations on my past life.

I had a dream where I made wings for my cat and started throwing her off things so that she could fly.

Hm. . . Be right back. . .

Well, it was like a year or two ago but I remember it pretty clearly. Based on the fact that in either part I am hanging with kids from my school, I assume it is supposed to be a feild trip.

In the first half of the dream I'm in this really grand hall, that's dimly lit but the light is, well, gold? The walls are all a deep gold, with black designs on them. The building is incredibly tall, and we're several floors up. Oddly, each floor is disconnected, and merely forms a closed square of stairwells (that doesn't describe it well, think the paradoxs in inception. Some people are walking or runnning around the stairs, and I start the dream following them, but soon go to sit with my friends in one of the corners.

After a good chunk of time in that building, I'm in a town made of ice. The two chunks of the dream are sort of connected, and the transition is seemless. I spend time walking around the town, which is beatiful. Most of the buildings are connected, so I spend little time outside. The ice goes from transparent to a very deep blue.

I'm still with other students from my school, but there's far less of them and I grow suspicious. It was actually really creepy, because there's no direct threat from the townsfolk. But I start to get this weird feeling that everything is watching me? I really can't describe it...I guess it's like the town itself is evil. Like silent hill.

Anyways, after I start seeing less and less of my fellow students I'm done with the town and decide to try to leave. I tell one of the few students I run into that I've got a bad feeling about the town, and she says she agrees. So we decide to leave together, however several steps down the hall I fall through the ice into the water.

From there, my memory of the dream gets fuzzy. I think that the girl pulls me out and we continue but I'm unsure. I love this dream, even the end when it gets creepy. The feel, and look of the place is amazing. It's got this serene and atherial look and feel.

I once had a dream that I could cast magic spells - like a cross between Harry Potter and Eragon. It felt so real that when I woke up right after setting fire to some small shrub (sounds violent, but it just wasn't, there was no meaning or consequence attached to it) I actually felt a little upset.
Was a totally fantastic dream.
I wouldn't say I understood the meaning of life any time in its duration, however.

Don't think weatabix was a good idea for tea.. =/

My dreams are weird, most of the time i don't remember them. And if it is a nightmare i often recognize that i am dreaming and try to wake myself up.

Other people have vague dreams about falling and stuff, i have intense and detailed dreams that's really strange. I have been swordfighting with the Swedish minister of state, collaborated with russian spies and been on a pleasure cruise inside Jurassic Park. Yeah i'm pissed when i wake up, i always miss the ending of the dream.

My magnum opus was an hours long dream that involved characters from children-television shooting one of my friends, me fist-fighting with GTA characters and huge birds and finished with a gigantic stadium suddenly appearing in my hometown. Must have been a concert in there too because it played Bad Romance so loud that i woke up. :(

Note that this took place after me and my friends just had a LAN-party for 2 days which were topped of by me taking some painkillers to dispel my headache. The scary part is that i can trace where all the pieces of my dream came from. We had been playing GTA, watched "you are a pirate" too much and Bad Romance were constantly playing on the radio. The mind + sleep deprivation + painkillers are a powerful thing.

I had a dream either last night or two nights ago where on the edge of a golf course was an indescribably beautiful snowy landscape, just miles and miles of white, blue snow and a few trees. T'was lovely...

One time I had a dream that my friends and I were being chased by a balrog through our old elementary school. It finally cornered us in the cafeteria, but fortunately Jack Bauer burst through the ceiling in large, flying shopping cart and carried us to safety.

It was awesome.

*ahem* More in the context of this topic, though, well.....I guess this kind of counts.

I'm at my old elementary school (Yeah. I know. It's weird.) except I guess in the dream it's been changed into a high school and it's the first day of freshman year (even though I was a sophomore at the time). I'm walking to my class, when I see the girl I had a huge crush on in 8th grade, but I was too nervous to ever talk to her. We make eye-contact. She walks over to me. Says she wants to talk to me in private. (SIT DOWN! It's not going where you think it's going.) I follow her around a corner and we come to a tunnel filled with water. It's kind of odd, because there's no slant in the tunnel. It's completely straight, but for some reason the water is suspended inside it. We simply walk into it. Inside, I discover that the tunnel is shaped like a giant "L", the entrance being the....I don't know....bottom right "corner" of the L. There's also broken I-beams everywhere. We swim up the vertical part of the "L", navigating the I-beams, and arrive at the top, where there is a small ledge above the water. We both get up and sit on the ledge.
He have a brief conversation where she essentially tells me that she wants me to ask her out. (Later I would realize that this girl wasn't really the girl from 8th grade. She was more like my idealized version of her.) I'm looking down at the water. She says, "Is there something you want to say to me?" Now, I had wondered for years what would have happened if I had just asked her out. What would she have said? How would the date have gone? How would my life be different today? It was something I had always wanted closure for, but she moved to another state after 8th grade, so I never saw her again. And now here she was, and she wanted me to finally ask her out. I looked up from the water, and look right into her eyes.

And I open mine. I'm in bed. It's about 5am. And I realize that I really will never see her again. But now, for some reason, I'm completely okay with that.
