It's confirmed, Beavis and Butt-Head are coming back to telivison. [http://tv.ign.com/articles/114/1147540p1.html]

What do think about this? And how do you think they'll fare with the modern MTV crowd?

Well that's certainly a hell of a lot better than the regular shit on the tube nowadays.

at least their shirts have to do with music.. and occasionally so do their comments... bringing more music to music television (MTV) then has been their in 10 years.

... and I don't think it will fair well, it would be like remaking Ren and Stimpy... it had its day in the sun, but that day has passed. (and I think Ren and Stimpy would to better then Beavis and Butthead as a relived cartoon)

I never thought I'd write this sentence, but...

Today's generation is too stupid for Beavis and Butt-head.

I don't know if they're too stupid or if there just aren't enough grit, explosions, and/or tits in it.

On a side note, am I the only one who relished in the irony that the show seemed designed to make fun of the people it appealed to the most?

Oh great more juvenile humor, cause we don't have enough of that as it is. We need more shows like Frasier, not more Beavis and Butt-Head.

Oh, we knew it was making fun of us, but we adopted B&BH as our own. My generation was self-aware enough to be in on the joke. We worked at fast-food joints, hung out/loitered outside 7-Eleven, made fun of music videos that weren't our favorite bands, and then watched Beavis and Butt-head do those things better (or hilariously worse, in the case of any Burger World sketch) than us.

SimuLord is right. I think it will fail for that reason. Hell, If I had a DVR, I would give it a peak, since it will most likely be on while I am at work...

psssst....we're from the same generation.
I just never got into them. Just about everyone I knew was, so I had plenty of exposure. I even caught myself laughing from time to time in spite of myself. It just wasn't really my thing though.

I never really cared for the duo and I still don't care for them. That being said there are always far worse shows that could be on the television, that is right I'm pointing at you Two and a Half men.

I for one love Beavis and Butthead, its just plain stupid crude humor on the surface but also intelligent social criticism if you bother to really pay attention.

Its really amazing how MTV used to be the height of cool and subversive television for one generation, and then it transformed into the most anti-intellectual wasteland where culture goes to die. Was reality tv really that destructive?

I found loads of bands through watching that show that I otherwise would probably never have discovered in the UK.I recall enjoying it to the extent of taping every episode(the days of VHS...I am old#:) Just don't know how well it will go down now. Also, I am becoming kind of sick of this whole bringing back old shows/movies fad at the moment. It feels like a complete lack of originality and creativity.

I realize that, for whatever reason, people like complain about how stupid everyone has become, but here's the problem: It's BS. [http://www.cracked.com/article_18983_5-complaints-about-modern-life-that-are-statistically-b.s..html]
