What do you mean, first two? There are only two Banjo Kazooie games.

Put me down for rolling.

JakII was was tricky because of the crowded streets. Roll jump into a cop and they all start shooting at you, the bastards.

The fable series, you can infinite run anyway but you can also infinite combat roll (at least in 3, I can't remember 2 or 1 at this point)

I'm not sure if it's any faster than walking but in any of the Lego games the art of jumping and then diving forward certainly seems to get you places quicker. In the same series doing mad jumps forward on tightropes definitely get you there quicker and since you lock on to the tightrope you never ever fall.

The evasion roll in The Witcher 2 was perfectly balanced to match your running speed...

...until you upgrade it to cover twice the distance in the same time. It felt like a speedhack.

I did a speed run of God of War and if you rolled and then immediately dashed it was significantly faster than walking, I beat the game in under 4 hours.

I can't believe nobody has mentioned the good old diagonal run (strafing and walking forward at the same time) from Goldeneye 64 and Perfect Dark. I would never go anywhere without holding both a c-button and the analog stick. Sure, you were blind to about half of what you were running towards, but it was quicker, so who cares?

Tribes Ascend granted its not quite avoiding stamina drain of running but the game was based on I think they called is skiing you used boosters and the ability to negate friction and slide across the world at very high speeds.

There's four, actually. After Tooie there was a GBA game called Grunty's Revenge that was released with all the success of a wet fart, and then of course Nuts & Bolts for the 360. (which I believe is the one you're pretending doesn't exist)

Evading in God of War. Just a simple flick of the right analog stick and off you go! Although now that I think about it, the recovery time after each evasion may have made this less convenient than I thought...

Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines does not have Z-Block because unlike all other Half-Life 2 based games: their dev went under and thus has never updated it. So you can easily bhop around all the levels really quickly. It's how I always got around the hubs in that game, because it's a more fun way to travel, it's a fair deal faster, and I always thought it was hilarious to have a super powerful vampire basically skipping around the city like a school girl.

The original Day of Defeat had a bug, that I don't recall ever being fixed(although you could get banned from servers for it.) You would lie down on the ground in prone position, and then hold down a strafe modifier and push your mouse forward as fast as you could repeatedly. You would slide across them map faster than you could possibly go by sprinting/running and all while in prone position. It frustrated the hell out of snipers and let me flank the enemy repeatedly and easily every match.

Morrowind. Get your acrobatics up and motherfucking jump to the next city.
Damn, ninja'd. Acrobatics was OP in Morrowind and Oblivion, if I remember correctly. 100 Acrobatics >>> 100 Speed and Athletics skill. Probably because speed and athletics both caused your jump speed to increase alongside your run speed.

That or use a scroll of Icarian Flight and jump between Vivec and Ald'ruhn.
Remember, it's not the fall that kills you, it's the landing!
O.T: I remember there were a few moves in Dragon's Dogma that you could abuse to move faster, but most of the time they consumed more stamina than just running. But since they were attacks, they were great for closing gaps between you and the enemy.

Can't believe the first post didn't have Vanquish in it.

I mean really, who the hell ever walked in that game when you can rocket slide everywhere?!
This. After the first five minutes of that game, I don't think I ever saw the walking animation again.

No, I'm with KeyMaster on this one. There are only two Banjo Kazooie games.

OT:

I try and avoid using attack animations to get about in games, but in Devil May Cry 3 half the rooms were only a few Stinger's in length and whenever an enemy was supposed to pop out of nowhere and surprise you it ended up shouting 'boo' out of an entirely new hole in its face.
