People become way worse when you get into the level 30 regular player zone and everyone thinks they know how to play better than everyone else. You may be becoming one of them but youre also in an environment with a lot more hostility which helps breed it a lot.

If someone is raging at you and you're doing bad, apologize and try to diffuse the situation. If they're just being a huge asshole I've found the best way to go about it is just to mock them and make it fun. It's much easier to do if you have level headed friends to laugh at them with. I like to call people that rage at me stupid sounding pet names like "caramel colon" or "sugar clitoris" and just be non-combative.

If you're angry at someone on your team doing bad, first consider the fact that the other player might just be good. If the player is doing fine mechanically and building right, don't call them out for feeding. You're just a dick at that point.

BUT if you notice a consistent error in the way they play (meaning it's happened more than once, and not just the fact that people make mistakes) and want them to do something differently, I've found people are actually a lot more receptive to you if you say something to the effect of "Hey, I'm legitimately not trying to rag on you, but this is something that you need to work on" or "for future reference, that item is really not good against teams like this for this reason"

Seriously, try it. A lot of the time they'll actually consider what you're saying because they're so used to "GG NOOB SUPPORT NO WARDS"

The fact that you REALIZE you COULD become "that asshole" is a good sign. You recognize the possibility, and want to avoid it. That's better than a lot of people.

From this point on, it's up to you how you deal with it.

You can either succumb to the easy temptation to become a jerk, or you could bite your lip, offer positive feedback to help the guy out (IE "Never stand just outside a bush. It gives you no extra vision and it increases the odds of being ganked. Either go in, or stay away, it's safer") and become a beacon of knowledge that will be respected by most players.

Also, the best attitude to have when playing league is: "It's only a game". Winning is preferable, yes, but if you lose, so what? What did you REALLY lose, aside from 30 minutes of your time? And you probably learned something during that loss too, so it's not a total waste. Try to care less about losses. It's what me and a friend are doing. My friend's game improved dramatically after he had that epiphany.

This is the same guy who can go "oh, I'm being forced to jungle because everyone else called their roles and is being a douche? Fine. Imma Jungle as Teemo, AND CARRY HARD. Oh look, I just won us the match. Neat, so jungle teemo DOES work!". Caring less about losses and focusing on just playing the best you can and offering pointers to those who are doing badly goes a lot longer towards helping you win.
