I've been a homebrewer for a couple of years now and was wondering if:

A) other homebrewers existed on the Escapist forums and

B) any other beer geeks could recommend some weird, obscure stuff that can be discovered. I live in the Napa Valley of Beer (Colorado), so there isn't much that surprises me. I'm not really looking for various breweries' versions of classic styles, I'm looking for stuff that's totally unique. Feel free to post whatever you enjoy, though.

Another Coloradan. Good gravy there're a lot of us.

I'm not a geek, really. I just know what I like, and it's all from out here. Blue Moon totally tops the list though.

In all honesty, I don't care what people drink. But the BMC (Bud, Miller, Coors) group has GOT TO GO.

I like beer a lot. I've always been interested but I've never brewed my own, kinda scared it would suck and give me the shits. I like a good black and tan though. If I did brew beers I would brew those varieties for the wonderful concoction they create.
Jump right in! Brewing is WAAAAAY easier than you think, and unless you're someone who can't memorize a simple process it's always better than what you can buy. Sometimes it can get a little arduous, though.

Yeah, I know, but it's slightly better than Coors (which tastes like bear piss) and cheaper than the really high-end stuff. I can get it right down the street from work.

I'm in Parker currently, but I'll be moving to Illinois in about 3 weeks. What about you?

I haven't had any alcohol of any kind yet. Two and a half months to go before I'm legal!

[sub][sub]I'm Canadian. Suggest me some alcohol to experiment with when I finally can buy liquor.[/sub][/sub]

Windsor. Originally from Frederick, but my girlfriend and I got an apartment here for school at UNC.

Believe me, I've spent more on a single beer. Was it a genuine recommendation? Have you had it?

I'm not too keen on beer, and I'm not sure why. My Dad and Grandad love it but I'm just..'meh', about it.

HOWEVER...one beer I do love is Desperados which is beer flavoured with tequila and served with a lime slice in the bottle. Pure heaven.

Nearly anything by Dogfish Head, Mikellen, or a decent Belgian Abbey beer. They're all high ABV, so be careful.

Nice. Enjoy the school... there's a lot of great people there. Maybe you can find more homebrewers :)

Yeah I have and I'd highly recommend it to you if you don't mind spending the extra coin on something special. I don't have it often but I always make sure there is a bottle of it in the house :D

Desperados isn't recognised as a beer but rather and RTD (ready to drink) as the beer portion is essentially a clear bitterless malt alcohol.

But currently I've been serving Brasserie Dieu de Ceil's stuff that is absolutely brillant some reccomendations are

Aphrodisiaque - vanilla and cocoa bean stout
Routes des epices - Peppercorn Rye ale
Peche mortel - Espresso Stout
Équinoxe Du Printemps - Maple Scotch Ale

Of course then there is the brewdog range and as before the DFH Palo Santo is one of my favourites
