anybody who is interested in this should give a quick lookie at below video. Okay, it is about an hour, but it works well enough mostly as a podcast if you got shit to do;

They even bring up Kojima's Death Stranding involvement. And seem pretty open about HZD basically originating from "heyyy...hunting robot dinosaurs is a neat idea!"
i think it's interesting, [small]but am very much undeniably incredibly biased[/small] so don't take my word for it

This explains why riding the mount feels so ridiculously good for something that seems like just an extra little feature. They always intended for the protagonist to ride a horse and had all the mechanics in place, but a change in story got rid of all the bigger animals, so they decided to let you ride a couple of the robots instead.

I wish one of the long leg bird-like robots was ridable. It would be like a robo-chocobo.

Or better yet, a ravager or sawtooth. Now that would be bad ass.

A robochocoboto. Riding predatory mounts seems like something they would save for DLC.

Or a sequel. We know there will be one.

It would have to be a an upgrade you get near the end of the game though. Having Aloy be able to ride every robot from the outset would be too OP. And maybe add some caveats, like the bigger/more hazardous the machine, the more dangerous it is to Aloy herself. Like she can only ride a Sawtooth for a set amount of time before she starts taking damage.

It is so unfortunate that this game will die in the long term of the gaming art form. X86-64 is extremely hard to emulate, so long term, it will die with the PS4/Pro/Maybe PS5 and be forgotten whilst much older games soldier on.
not really. Everything dies. Everything has to, to make way for the new. It's the only way to evolve. Best to accept that early on and plan for embracing it. All of this will be meaningless in 50 year's time. If humanity even lasts that long

Yeah, because we can't play the PS3's greatest hits on PS4. Oh wait, yes we can, they just remaster them. Or stream them through PS Now. If the company sees an opportunity for profit, the game will survive into the future one way or another.

The next PS will probably use x86 too - and the one after that. There aren't all that many competitive choices for CPU ISAs these days.

x86 if you want power.

ARM if you want efficiency.

And you have POWER I suppose ... but IBM is the only one working on it, ergo, it won't keep up with the former 2 when it comes to cost effectiveness.

That's it ...

I finally got around to watching it as I had it in my "watch later" for awhile. The most interesting bit was towards the end about the game really coming together in the last 3 months. And, how John Gonzalez was like "no big animals" and I'm pretty surprised Guerrilla went along with it because I get the sense writers in the industry don't have much power.

Is it not sad that Horizon will die before DOOM 1 will? A much older game. And before much older works even like most of literature...

They likely have hundreds or thousands of years. Horizon... a mayfly. And because of the greed of some people :(

...What? Are you actually saying there won?t be a legitimate way to play Horizon 100+ years from now? Even if Sony?s not around anymore chances are it won?t even matter. Games are practically superfluous after a couple decades worth of technology.
