By the sounds of it, I'm glad I haven't heard this yet. In any case, what are you doing talking to a person who can't make an equally intelligent, factually based argument against what you are saying anyway? I mean, if they just say they don't care (and it's been used against me) they just don't have anything else to say. Seems the same here.
Well, thing is, if someone posts something on here and gets a message they have been quoted, especially by someone with an opposing viewpoint, of course sometimes people are going to rationalize their decisions, because this is the essence of an internet discussion forum, right? Sometimes, people will even say it right off the bat without much discussion at all.

Point is, if I just sauntered into threads, posted my opinion and left all the time, I would not consider myself a good Escapist. If I don't feel strongly about something, or something doesn't pique my curiosity, I wouldn't bother saying anything in the first place. Trust me, sometimes I wish everyone on here was over 25 with families, but there's other forums for that out there.

sorry you got your feelings hurt by someone over the internet. people on the internet feed on your emotions, don't let them get the best of you.

also, stop being so butthurt.

Well, forums are all about discussions. It's just that many forums erode into the standard (excuse the stereotype) College frat type chat where they yell out their random comment and slink out the door.

When someone says it to me, I usually just think "OK, this person is a blithering idiot" and ignore them.

I tend to respond "I'll give you something to be butthurt about" and maintain eye contact for as long as possible. It's a great way to drive them off.

That is not a good word to use. I will not be using that word in the foreseeable future.

You people and your 'street' terms..=/

Man, is anyone else sick of this being thrown around so much? It's like, if anyone has an opinion on anything at all, that happens to be of a negative connotation, this is the first thing some people jump to! Or, when you are in an argument with someone, they will attempt to end it by saying "Well lol you're just butthurt over it."

It is sad that so many people resort to apathy over all matters, and then feel compelled to trash where they live/economic status/politics because actually taking a stance on something would make them "butthurt" to the other side of the argument. As a retaliatory tool in an argument, calling someone "butthurt" is one of the lowest things you can do, in my opinion. Yes, certain things are not serious, like the internet, but in reality, that is all subjective anyways, right? If someone has invested their time in making a point to you, and you fire back that they care too much, didn't you care just as equally to make an opposite point?

Now, before everyone starts saying how b-hurt I am over the topic, let's have a little discussion: How do you feel when someone says this to you? Do you give up, or come right back at them? Is there any use? Are you a person who uses this term, and if so, why do you do it?
Ah yes, internet slang. Can we agree to keep "troll" and "ninja'd" and forever abolish the rest? Phrases like "epic fail" and "__-tard" punctuate the intellectual deficit of so many who are ironically telling everyone else how much smarter they are.

I have never ever heard somebody say that. Is it an American thing? Either way, it sounds like a silly thing to say.

Unless of course you mix it with narcissism.

Narcissistic rage is not a pretty thing to behold, or so I hear.
Or so you hear? You're the one who's been BANNED for it. From your profile and I quote, "I am everything you are not." If that isn't at the root of your prepubescent logic problem I don't know what is.

I'm a narcissistic asshole, I know it. You on the other hand need the firm slap of 'temet nosce' to shake you into the reality that you are a petulant whiner who doesn't realize that you are the essence of EVERYTHING you whine about. Kill yourself.

For closing folks, from its' profile, a glaring example of trying to save face when banned for being an asshat:
"I am plenty pleased to be banned, folks. I was tired of this site and most (but not everyone) on it."

The banhammer may not always be right, but it is always righteous.
