Honestly?

I find out my girl is a drug addict so I say I won't date her until she cleans herself up. So in return she disappears for 6 months, then reappears only to tell me shes dumped me to go out with the local dealer, just after I had gotten over her.

Only my good sense of humour and timing kept me together after that.
I found it kind of funny anyway. In a rather tragic and heartbreaking sense.

Never had a relationship, thus have not experienced being dumped. My general attitude towards it however is, "eh whatever" due to my rather apathetic opinion of dating as a while. I have this lingering thought I could be one of the worst exes because it would take me less then a few minutes to move on.
i never envy someone for what i will at some point get myself, but this is what i strive for. i am extremely apathetic towards people in that i never show what i feel. to me, people have to prove themselves; whether for a romantic relationship or just friendship. if they have the mind, that's enough for me to keep acquainted with them. if they don't, i don't bother with them whatsoever.

i've been over this already on these forums, but basically i'll go in, be the star of the night that everyone wants to talk to or get to know. usually i talk to everyone to figure out if there's anything at all besides the worthless chit chat, and only very rarely there is. i do tend to sleep with whomever, but i'm not pursuing anything else if they don't have the right mindset. and usually girls who do one night stands don't.

WWIAIIITTT got a good one
was with a girl, she was fucking awesome.
4th day -we do a lot of fooling around (first time for both of us BIG DEAL cos of our age)
5th day -she leaves me saying "i'm not frigid or anything, i just want to be single"
6th day -she tries it on with my best friend, who agrees to date her, wates 30 minutes then rejects the shit out of her.

They are now ACTUALLY A COUPLE, and have been breaking up getting back tgether in an annoying matter, to make it worse, she joined our college, sits next to me in art, and looks at me like she is still X years old and wants me to do her

When I told my GF what we did way back when she FLIPPED and reeeeaaallly hates her.

I find it all funny because me and my best friend are still fucking tight as hell so we lol at all of it.

Wow, that must've sucked.
probably ruined your evening completely.

I've never been in a relationship, so I can't really answer the question.
I'd probably be devastated though... I guess
yeah well it blew ass. but i don't care that much because she ended up being a ***** anyway

My ex broke up with me a week before Valentines Day. While we were still together I had ordered a Singing Valentine as a joke. Apparently, she didn't find it too funny. Her friend told me that she had been in tears. I still laugh about it to this day.

*breaks out the list*
1.dumped first by a girl because i wasn't exciting

b,got dumped over the phone after my 18th birthday party, she hooked up with someone an hour later, we'd been dating 6 months

3. got dumped because we were better friends. it's hard to argue this one. it worked really well. of all the breakups, this one is my favorite

d. dumped her because she lived in a bubble world where everything is cheerie, even after i had my Strat stolen and her dad had a stroke

5got dumped after 10 months, 4 of which she spent in a mental hospital and far away from me, because i was depressed

f. dumped again by number 1 because i still wasn't exciting

The only experience I had was pretty depressing for me. I've been in a long distance relationship with someone I liked and haven't got a phone call, email, or even an instant message in awhile. We were clowning around one day about something (can't remember) and out of the blue she tells me that I'm just not that interesting to her. Man did I felt like crap for a few months and an entire summer.

@Bourne: I have a similar view point as well, before the only person I met and still getting that now. I think of it as a nice filter of all the crappy people out there and really feel relieved to see other people share my same thoughts.

Buddy of mine actually told me that he was having sex with my girlfriend. She had apparently told him that we broke up a few weeks before, but never mentioned anything to me. So, I kissed my girlfriend before class, then got asked by my friend why I was kissing her.
I saw nothing wrong with kissing my girlfriend, and told him so. He then informed me about her being his fuckbuddy, I punched him in the face, called her a whore, and never spoke to her again.

I can't really blame my buddy for wanting to have sex with her. And she admitted to telling him that we weren't together anymore, so I feel that a punch to his face settled the matter.
The human race is fucked, common sense just isn't common.

Sorry. I just re-read my post and does come across as quite rude. I didn't mean any offence by it. The picture you painted was more Ed Gein than Gordon Gecko, if that's any excuse.
No worries, mate. I did not actually find it rude, granted it takes quite a bit to offend me. In any event never heard of either person, haha.

Voltano: Good to hear as well, as I have said here before. Most people I know have pestered me about this viewpoint and I have heard my fair share of lectured on how I should go and date despite their failed relationships. It always amusing me how people seem to be oblivious to their own flaws yet have no qualms attempting to point out those same flaws in other people and in this case it is not even a flaw.

Selfishness seems to be at an all time high, and no one seems to give a shit about anyone else anymore.

Probably because the peons like watching people on TV be dicks, and then that inspires other people to be dicks and be only out for themselves. It is a vicious circle.

Yeah... there's no possible way you could know how you would feel, if you've never been in a relationship. You might be right, but you may very well be just as wrong. I remember what it felt like to have not been in a relationship up until a certain point in my life. What I thought I would feel and what I ended up feeling were two opposite things.

Then again, that's just how the frontal lobe works. You can only base your future feelings on your present ones, which is obviously not a great way to gauge that sort of thing. But, that's all we have to go by as human, unfortunately.
Indeed, that I cannot dispute. Currently I base my reaction off of how I am in general; I do not build strong attachments towards people whatsoever and am quite apathetic in regards to relationships and dating; not be confused with opposing either, I just prefer to "play my hand" so to speak and wait for a woman that impresses me then to venture in at random like many of my peers. At Twenty I have plenty of time to wait.

Of course as you stated, things may change although this is an aspect I intend to maintain as best I can. It simply makes difficult situations like a break up that much easier to deal with when you tackle the world with a nonchalant attitude.

10 bucks says when it hits you it hits like a motherfucking train

My first girlfriend was the only one to dump me bad, We were together for 6 months when she text'd me saying "We are no longer together." Then she would not talk to me at all from that point even though i was dying with heartbreak...

Then, one drunken night in the city of Newcastle i get approached by ten hardarses saying that i'm a rapist and that i forced my ex to abort our rape baby (I'm not joking, i was 18 and i thought the entire world thought i did that, i think i nearly killed myself over it)

I was shielded by a great group of mates... but even they couyld not contend with the bullshit that was being spread.

So... i left that city a week later for Sydney, and have never looked back.

I have never put myself in that position again. I was alone, by my own volition.

Things have changed now, i was being really standoffish and ignoring girls that flirted with me until this girl would not take no for an answer...

We went out for drinks/dinner and ended up taking a weeks worth of sickies so we did not have to stop being together, and now we are getting married.

Cry not for me, Escapist.
