This will sound pretty sad but I am 24 and obviously being on these forums I have been a gamer my entire life. The problem is I just run into a wall whenever I feel like going out and doing stuff. I have no clue what people my age do or where I can go. A major problem is that I am not very spontaneous I like to have stuff planned out helps with my anxiety.

The only friend in state at the moment is even less outgoing then me and really has no wish to do much at all and the other two have been in college for quite a few years and for the most part picked up new friends to hang out with and I only get to see them once every few months. So I am pretty much tackling this issue on my own.

My question would be is there any sites I can look up activities going on near me or anyone have an specific ideas. I am just really wanting to get out more meet new people work also does not help since I start at 3am so besides weekends I am stuck having to do things mid day.

For reference I am in Minnesota living near the Twin Cities.

The hackerspace thing looks pretty cool with the wielding and woodworking. Not sure what you mean by technology club.

Never went to college so no connections there.

I will look into if any bars nearby do any events like that. Was never really into the bar scene so not sure what is available.

Started looking around to see if there is any organized sport stuff. Always enjoyed hockey when I was in school.

Never hung out at them. Been to a local bar with a friends before but not the type to sit and watch sports and get drunk in public or could just be a misconception of what people do at bars.

Whats the purpose of going out? Are you looking to meet like minded individuals, are you looking to meet women, or are you looking to expand on your interests or worldview? Advice may vary depending on your answer. 'Meeting new people' is a bit vague.

I'm gonna go ahead and reccomend ballroom dancing lessons.
