Being stared at

So lately I'm being stared at by everyone when riding round town on my bike.
Granted I'm 2m tall and the only bikes I can rent are tiny. But still, staring is rather rude and I'm already self-conscious enough as it is.

I try to just shrug it off and either wave at them if they're girls (which is always met with hysterical laughter...... which is never good for a man's ego). Or I use the universally accepted nod of approval if it's guys (one of them in complete bafflement of me acknowledging his existence decided that the best course of action was to salute me....... which was weird).

So my question to you guys and gals is: When was the last time you were suddenly thrown into the center of attention and how did you deal with it?

ps
This should be search bar approved, sorry if it isn't.

I get stared at while on the train, mostly because of my really beat up sunglasses. They can't see it, but I just stare back at them.

I think about it like this, I'll never see them again, and if I do, I won't remember them and they won't remember me, so why worry about it.

I hate when people decide to throw 'search bar approved' and the like. So annoying...

OT: Not stared at, but when I visited New York last, I went on the Subway one day. While waiting to get to my stop, a random lady sitting opposite me took out her camera and took a picture of me. The flash was amazingly bright so I was blinded for a good 10 minutes. I still haven't a clue what that was about...

I'm pretty good at going unnoticed, but when I am noticed I usually turn it into a hug joke, often at my own expense. Those people likely won't have a negative impact on what really matters anyways, and if they did? Well at least I made some people laugh right?

People stare at my person quite often, as I seem to be the only male in this area with hair going down past my shoulders, though I could be wrong.

I stare at girls so that when they look back they end up frozen by my gaze and stare back at me.

I often just shrug it off and walk around with an air of superiority that nobody can indirectly challenge, turning their stares into gawks of awe, for both of us.

I usually stare back, trying to make the exact facial expression of the perpetrator. That, or mouth that they've got something in their nose or something.

But if I'm feeling civilized, I wave or smile.

Me and friend were bored, so in public, we sang I'm On a Boat, Dick In a Box, and I Love College from heart. We were epic win that people stared in jealousy. When we finished our performance, we both turned around and in a very badass manner, said, "Yeah!".

That whole squirrel boy joke. People I never saw before knew who I was.

When ever someone stares at me, I do either:

a) Stare back at them, then after a few seconds yell out "Damn you're ugly!" for laughs.

b) http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/KubrickStare

I am very uncomfortable with being stared since I am very self conscious. I especially hate the stares I get from certain middle aged to old white people; they look at me with disgust and suspicion as though they are waiting for me to blow something up; those discriminating looks are pretty hard to shrug off. Sometimes I can go unnoticed quite easily (which I like). The only time I like being looked at is by pretty girls, especially when accompanied by their beautiful smile.

If people are looking at me (unless I'm playing a game for an impromptu audience, then I become a showboater), I tend to get self-conscious...

...if I even notice. When I was in Japan, the other foreign students occasionally complained about being stared at, but I remained oblivious to it.

I don't really remember or notice anyone staring at me. I just don't pay attention I guess. If I ever did notice, I'm pretty sure I just ignored it.

Well i was at the gym last week and there was a guy there i used to play football with, except i couldn't remember his name, and i guess he couldn't remember mine. It was very odd. Eventually we did the good old g'day and left it at that.

Whenever I wear my coat. Granted it's long and black (thats what she said?), and usually worn by people in their 50's and I'm young.. but still... teh fuck?
