For those familiar with Adelaide (South Australia), I was crossing Grenfell street about a week ago and saw a man with a goatee, a sweet hat and a chip on his shoulder. Since I watched GameDamage only a day previously, I had what he looked like fresh in my mind and swore it was him!

Likely not, but it damn well looked like him.

Anyone know if he was chilling about good ol' Adelaide in the last few days?

Anyone else had a brush with the man? I did see him a while ago in Brisbane, too.

The proper behaviour in such an event is to call out "Ben!" then go on about your business, trying to see with the corner of your eye if he's looked your way. If not, someone named Ben probably looked, so it wasn't a completely lost act.

(If you're a jerk, of course.)

On a related note, I think Yahtzee may be and the sub-celebrity level in which you don't even look when people on the street call your name.

See, that would make sense however he lives in Brisbane I believe, and for a city of that size, happening across a particular person by random in a spot that's not typically a central place to be isn't going to be a common occurrence.

YOU SAW YAHTZEE!!!!!!!

But that's impossible. He's super famous, and lives on high tech space station IN SPACE!

Seriously, what does matter where you saw him, or that you saw him at all?

Sure, it might cool to see someone of relative fame that you like, but in the end, what does it matter to us?

It's his business where he is, and his business alone.

It was actually just a point of curiosity, to find out if it was him I saw.

Well, unless Yahtzee himself tells you (and trust me, that won't happen), you'll never know.

Should have glomped him. If you get punched in the face, it's probably not him.
If he spends four minutes lecturing you in a ridiculously fast-paced, psychotic manner about your glomping technique, execution, and so forth, it is probably Yahtzee.
Unless he happens to have his recording equipment at ready, I believe the first outcome is much more likely.

Hey, this is the first time I've posted twice in the same thread on the Escapist. What is wrong with me?

Yahtzee has been dead for the last year. Game Damage was an attempt by his two friends to cash in on his fame, weekend at bernie's style. Hence the lethargic, poor performance put into the pilot. If you look close enough, you can see the strings.

The Escapist uses powerful, ancient technology to create Yahtzee-esque scripts and voice them in a manner strikingly similar to his previous efforts in order to keep their own cashcapades going.

Cause of death? Awesome poisoning.

Oh my God, I go to the same university as Holly Grainger (actress) and Chelsy Davy (Prince Harry's girlfriend). I must have seen them both in the Merrion Shopping Centre the other day! (Ironic as neither are in Leeds University anymore and I wasn't in the shopping centre the other day :]) This isn't too hard to believe, that Yahtzee was in Adelaide, as he lives in Australia (good man, he ditched our crappy UK and did what I really should have done ages ago, before the government screwed things up). If someone lives in a certain country they are bound to be spotted IN THAT COUNTRY. That is a fact. Therefore why post such a pointless forum topic? (That said, I am jealous, since I would LOVE to meet Yahtzee at some point, especially as I myself am an aspiring game developer so would like the chance to ask him about the gaming industry itself).

I'm sorry, but this makes no sense. So you're saying that because George Clooney lives SOMEWHERE in America, I'd likely see him no matter what city in what state I go to? Or are you just incredibly dense enough to believe that the entirety of Australia is small enough that someone from Brisbane can easily be spotted randomly in Adelaide?

If you read my post it makes perfect sense. I never said that a certain person will spot the other guy who lives in a particular place, I merely said they are bound to be spotted by SOMEONE. That is, someone will see that person even if it isn't you personally. Anyone walking past Yahtzee in Adelaide will see him (unless they are blind) because that is where he and they are. If you are in Perth or Brisbane or wherever, then you obviously won't see him. Simple.

As an Australian... I'm guessing many people here think its the latter. (And for your information, yes we do wrestle crocodiles in our spare time.... I've killed about 12 with my bare hands). I love patriotism, but I would be too freaked out by seeing Ben Crowshaw to talk to him... what would you say without sounding like an idiot?
