Fall of Ideals - All That Remains.

Kill Em' All - Metallica.

Both are the best I've heard so far.

Epic
They seem to have knack for epic album covers.

The best album ever is a close tie between scenes from a memory by dreamtheater and the wall by pink floyd. They don't necessarily have the best songs in them, but as albums all the songs and the order of songs just sort of . . . work.

jeez ...
I feel a bit older than the posts here ...
I am f*cking metal, believe me, but i dont know ...
i think the best album I've ever heard is INSIDES by ORBITAL - an early 90's instrumental electronica album.
I've always been a metal head, I was always punk rock (give me In Flames or Bad Religion any day), I even was on tour with a hardcore band for a year -
but INSIDES is really the best produced, most amazing sounding thing I've ever heard.
If anyone has never heard Orbital, go out and buy this album - I can't stress enough how incredible it is.

Joe's Garage by Frank Zappa.
I like you.

My personal vote would go to Vanilla's Ice's Greatest Hits. SO much soul on that album, you really understand his struggle.

....alright in all seriousness I'd have to say Swordfishtrombones by Tom Waits. Such a great album.

To me the greatest album ever recorded, hands down, is "The Wall" by Pink Floyd.

In fact I'll give you my top 5. This is based on quality of the finished product, musicianship, and writing:

1) The Wall - Pink Floyd
2) Seventh Son of a Seventh Son - Iron Maiden
3) Led Zeppelin IV - Led Zeppelin
4) Master of Puppets - Metallica
5) 1984- Van Halen

My opinions of course, but if you were stuck with just those 5 albums to listen to and nothing more, you'd be in pretty good shape.

Hm that's a tough one. So many bands, so many albums. Well I know God Hates Us All by Slayer is deffinitely up there. As Youthanasia by Megadeth...and Brave New World by Iron Maiden. So yeah that'll do, that's close to my top three.

Has a nice flow to it, even if it's intermingled with a chaos of music and interludes. Seriously has a song for any occasion or mood.

So much raw emotion, listening to this album I never know if I'm going to feel like punching a stranger, burning down an ex's house, or just hiding under a table to cry for awhile. So much angst, and not that fruity crap like most these newer bands. Also has some nice dark humor to it, just to keep you from snapping.

As much as I loved Pretty Hate Machine, and still do, Broken was the album that made me realize I would always love Trent Reznor, no matter how mediocre he ever got. PHM, though raged in it's own right, still had an upbeatness to it, a positive ending, a desire to hug the night away. Broken on the other hand spit on all those warm, fuzzy feelings and left you wanting to hurt, wether it be yourself or your fellow man. Fixed, though definitely not as powerful as Broken, is a continuation of that mindset, just with more beat to it. Fixed is the album to finally snap to. Go for it.

I admit it. When I first saw this album in a Media Play back in '96, I only bought it because of the eyes. They are so freakin' lovely! But after finally actualy listening to the CD a few days later, I was completely head-over-heels in love. The music was so powerful, so mellow yet edgy. Lyrics so strong and a voice so mesmerizing. It's been twelve years and yet I still can't ever get the love I feel for this girl, this woman now, out of my head and my heart. She is very talented. And sexy. Damn, going to have to go listen to this CD now. Me and my lust...
