hey guys,
was wondering what's the best album someone's recommended to you? a couple weeks back my roommate from umgd recommend that I take a listen to Delta Spirit's Ode to Spirit Cd that came out 8/26 since he knows I like indie rock music. I guess you can say I'm pretty picky about my music but I really liked it. Best song is their song Trashcan that's also on their imeem.com/deltaspirit page. but yeah, just wanted to see if you like their music like I do or not. but yeah, if not, what's the best album someone's recommended to you...

Wish you were here by Pink Floyd.

I already had quite a few Pink Floyd albums, my friend suggested I get this one, I did not regret it.

Not an album, but it was via a passing comment and recommendation that i found my love for Apocalyptica through the fantastic 'Path'

Youtube it, the non-vocals original is a must.

Long ago a friend sent me a song by the band The Project Hate MCMXCIX. Quite possibly some of the best shit I've ever heard to this day. If I recall correctly, it was The Divine Burning of Angels from the album Cybersonic Superchrist, not that it actually matters for point of reference as all their material is simply smashing.

It's either "Into the electric Castle" by Ayreon (Ayreon has better Albums, but that one was recommended to me) or one of the "Webography" Songs by Machinae Supremacy ("Winterstorm") i think.

Also i honorably mention "Into the Storm" from Blind Guardian since that recommendation was the start of me liking Metal

Always Outnumbered Never Outgunned by The Prodigy. Still one of my favourite albums to date.

Ten Masked Men - Return of the Ten Masked Men

Morte Macabre - Morte Macabre

and also Godspeed You! Black Emperor!! - Lift yr. Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven

Most of the time I am the one recommending albums, but amongst the ones that were praised to me they were the best ones.

Dark Side of the Moon, Pink Floyd

Lateralis, Tool

Blackwater Park, Opeth

Edit: Worst are OK Computer by Radiohead (in Rainbows and the rest of their catalog too)and The FLaming Lips (DOn't know the album, and have no interest in finding out.) Both for the same reason: Sing in tune, or don't sing at all.
