There's been a lot of great albums this year, quite a few that I haven't had the chance to hear either, but here's my pick of the litter in no particular order other than alphabetical:

Anathema - Weather Systems (Progressive Rock/New Age/Ambient)
Anglagard - Viljans Oda (Progressive Rock)
Baroness - Yellow & Green (Progressive/Indie Rock/Sludge Metal)
Cannibal Corpse - Torture (Death Metal)
Carach Angren - Where the Corpses Sink Forever (Symphonic Black Metal)
Cattle Decapitation - Monolith of Inhumanity (Tech Death/Progressive Metal/Grindcore)
Comus - Out of the Coma (Progressive/Psychedelic Rock/Folk)
Deftones - Koi No Yokan (Post-Hardcore/Hard Rock/Shoegaze)
Devin Townsend - Epicloud (Progressive Metal)
Diablo Swing Orchestra - Pandora's Pinata (Progressive/Avant-Garde/Swing Metal)
Drudkh - Eternal Turn of the Wheel (Black Metal)
Haiduk - Spellbook (Melodic Death Metal)
Ihsahn - Eremita (Progressive/Avant-Garde Metal)
In Mourning - The Weight of Oceans (Progressive Metal)
Incantation - Vanquish in Vengeance (Death/Doom Metal)
Les Discrets ? Ariettes Oubliees (Post-Rock/Shoegaze)
Master ? The New Elite (Death Metal/Death 'n' Roll)
Michael Kiwanuka ? Home Again (Soul/Folk)
Rush - Clockwork Angels (Progressive Rock)
Scott Kelly - The Forgiven Ghost in Me (Blues/Folk)
Sigh - In Somniphobia (Progressive/Avant-Garde Metal/Jazz-Fusion/I Don't Even Fucking Know Man)
Smashing Pumpkins - Oceania (Alternative Rock)
Spawn of Possession - Incurso (Tech Death/Progressive Metal)
Stoic Dissention - Relinquished: A Crumbling Monument Witnessed by None (Doom/Black Metal)
Storm Corrosion - Storm Corrosion (Progressive/Psychedelic Rock/Folk/Ambient)
The Tallest Man on Earth - There's No Leaving Now (Folk/Country)
Tame Impala - Lonerism (Psychedelic/Indie Rock)
Torche - Harmonicraft (Sludge Metal)
Ulver - Childhood's End (Psychedelic Rock)
Wintersun - Time I (Symphonic/Melo Death/Power Metal)

I'd say my personal favourite for this year would have to be either Eremita or Pandora's Pinata. I'm not good at being decisive, but those two in particular really stood out for me.
