So I know there was a post of the best melee weapon for an apocalypse but what about if you could use anything?
Personally, I would use a metal bat. You never ran out of electricity for it or bullets. All you need to do is keep up your strength for it.

In Max Brooks' "World War Z" (which I would highly recommend to anyone who hasn't read it) the victorious soldiers wield a sort of all-purpose tool/weapon. It's is vaguely described as being like a bladed shovel, and they use it for fighting and as a general utility implement.

The book also has one chapter describing the showdown between the US army and the zombie horde, in which the utter futility of conventional weapons is shown.

Personally though, I'd go for a nice sharp sword.

Ah yes, nothing beats the Lobo. I'll have to go with that.

I think what you're talking about is an entrenching tool.

If we're allowed anything, then I'll have a lancer. I imagine the chainsaw bayonet would come in handy.

That's the badger! Thanks, I couldn't remember the name and was too lazy to go and look in the book. :)

I'd have to say a shotgun as well. With the variety of ammunition available, shells, and buck mostly, That would do some work.

Assault rifle with crazy sword bayonet. Good for mid to close combat, since I've not ever heard of sniper zomibes.

If unlimited ammo, shotgun.

Otherwise axe for me. If you get swarmed though you will get tired from swinging it.

AK-47 with bayonet. Tough as nails, 7.62X39 is fairly common, and a bayonet for when the magazine's empty.
