So I've been using AVG (free version) for a while now but recently I've noticed that I'm being occasionally redirected to advert sites which probably means I have adware. I've done a full system scan 5 times so far and found nothing so I?ve decided to get something to replace AVG-free, what would you recommend?
things you need with this one,

-spybot search and destroy

-malwarebytes (free version)

both are needed to make sure you don't get a virus with avg, also avg is sotra crap now with all the new susceptibilities with the updates, you need avira antivir free personal (free, faster and has better protection) the best free antivirus out there (used to be avg, but like I said, the crap updates)

Avast! Home Edition and Malware Bytes.

Combined these two programs will form an impenetrable protective shield around your digital environment.

What those guys said.

But the best protection against many threats is common sense. Don't go clicking suspicious links, etc etc. Only time I got a virus was stumbling around some sites for a set of icons (They were beautiful, though. I eventually managed to find the original author's Deviant Art account and download them there. British library icons, they are indeed a work of art.)

ESET Nod 32 if you're willing to pay, Avira if you aren't (and are at least vaguely aware what's going on. Avira has a high rate of false positives, but the best detection engine of any antivirus program)

I use Webroot Antivirus with spy sweeper. It's been working pretty good for me.

Just out of curiosity what do you escapists think of it? Is it good?

I use Trend Micro, but that's fairly expensive, but before that I just used AVG Free and Comodo.

I definitey use Avast Free and run a Malware Bytes scan every now and again. :)
Non intrusive (except for "VIRUS DATABASE IS UPDATED" and the "Detected Threat Sound" is fairly loud. :)
But awesome. I sware I thought we were under attack when it deteced a virus with it's idle scan... :O It's like entering a restricted area and setting off an alarm! lol :D

Avast is great. Found a trojan with it. Couldn't save all my WoW gold, but I saved much more important things :)

Firefox + Noscript plugin.

No bloatware (aka anti-viruses) of any kind required.

The Best one acording to APC (Australian Personal Computer) magazenes Is Trend Micro. It does cost $100+-$5 a year. But if you don't care on price it is the best by far and it will protect 3 computers.
