I searched and couldn't find this topic yet though I'm sure its happened, if its happened recently feel free to point and laugh.
I really wanna see a system of a down guitar hero, vocals may be a bit tough though, so what band would you like to see get there own guitar hero?

I've gotta go with Trivum.

very technical stuff, very melodic, and the chance to really rock out with most of their songs. Guitar Hero was made for this band. Can you imagine playing Kiritsu Gomen? it would be amazing =D

Maiden definately.

Also Mike Patton if I can bend the rules a bit, as it includes Faith No More, Mr Bungle, Fantomas, Tomahawk and Peeping Tom, and that's a seriously wide range of work.

Goes from Bee Gees covers thru to thrash metal versions of the Omen theme, stopping off at lounge music and typical 80s rock on the way.

I just love that Patton can do the thrash metal howling and grunting and then snap into Sinatra mode in a moment, then team up with Massive Attack or Rahzel for something funky.

oh and of course Status Quo, for EZ mode, found a trailer for it already!

Trivium? Technical?

No dice.

Now, a Necrophagist game...that sounds like a poke.

Technical death metal at it's best. Good luck playing this on "_____" Band/Hero.

yes, trivium, technical. They may not be the greatest band in the world, but what they do, they do well. There's a reason they're accepted on such a huge level.

If you've got a problem with them, what about Children of Bodom, Parkway Drive, or Sylosis, hmm?

What I'd like to see more then anything is just a Guitar Hero/RockBand game that just takes a bunch of really technical artists. I'm like the one of the above guys in that would really just love a game full of brutally awesome tech death, but obviously that could never EVER happen for really obvious reasons.

But having just a great technical set list could really happen and would probably sell pretty well. A whole game full of Buckethead, Yngwie, Satch, Gilbert, Rusty Cooley, John 5, Randy Rhoads and Vai mixed in with some sick bands from a variety of genres (I'd love some Necrophagist, Vital Remains, Megadeth, Judas Priest and some Arsis etc etc but there's some amazing Jazz guys out there too and of course Dragonforce to feed the casual masses) would be totally amazing for me. Having to sift through 60 boring ass songs to get to the 5 songs that are even remotely challenging really grows thin with me >.<

But if I was to truly pick one band that could actually sell that I would enjoy? Well probably as sad as it is I'd have to pick Dragonforce. Simply because it is the only band that has a bunch of challenging songs that would actually sell well, even if the guitarists are god awful in real life who can't even play their own shit.

Edit: Yes Trivium are pretty bad. The guys are untalented, the music you just showed me is garbage I'm sorry to tell you. Trying to prop those guys up and compare them to the greats of metal is an absolute joke. I am honestly surprised you can type "very technical" with a straight face. I could show you literally 20 bands off the top of my head that blow these guys out of the water (and I don't even know that many metal bands!) and I am not even kidding, you ask me and I will show you (I could probably give you 50 if you gave me time to think).

Metalcore is a garbage genre, playing power chords quickly with a basic scale riff is stuff kids start making up after playing guitar for a couple of years. The Crusade (the non Metalcore album) was the most blatant Metallica rip off I have ever seen and it was quite funny to me hearing how badly they stack up to who they ripped off (and Metallica, while great for what they did for Metal were actually not that great skill wise, especially when you compare them to Megadeth)

And yes I think Parkway Drive is even worse then Trivium. Bodom is in a completely different genre then Trivium and sound completely different. The stuff they play is 1000x more complex and original then Trivium. I don't know who Sylosis is so I won't comment on them. Trivium are not well received by the Metal world and are actually mocked brutally by almost everyone in it. Seriously go to a Metal forum and say you love Trivium and see what happens ^_^ The band is really only well received by kids, and I get that, they are a good band for that genre and the people who listen to it. But they are no good compared to a huge number of metal acts out there.

I'd Love a Guitar Hero: Rush or a track pack like AC/DC got. Rarely any weak parts though the longer stuff like 2112 and the Necromancer may be a bit off putting.

Play one song. Played 'em all surely.
Acquired the album on the strength of the GH track and was struck deaf with boredom. Sure they can all play well. But it's a one note trick, if you'll pardon the pun.

I actually despise Dragonforce for the exact reasons you mentioned (as well as them being a studio band who speed up there tracks), I can't stand listening to them in real life because their stuff all sounds the same. Having said that though I really enjoyed them on guitar hero, I got the track pack and everything and had a real blast playing them. I still haven't gotten over them to this day and because of that Guitar Hero 3 was the best Guitar Hero in my mind. The other ones are absolute jokes because there are no hard songs at all =/

I would vastly prefer a Guitar Hero on Tech Death or Yngwie/Satch/Vai/Rusty Cooley/Gilbert but they are just not recognizable names. My basic point is Dragonforce would be the most challenging band that could actually be made into a game that would work so that's why I am picking it :p

Lol those guys are awesome live.

But I'd go for a more classic band like deep purple or something.

Wow.

So that's "technical" to you?

Come back when Trivium starts playing like this.

Parkway Drive is no better. Children of Bodom are way above all three of these bands you listed, although Laiho's vocals aren't the greatest.

Look on the bright side, though-you'll be more likely to find Trivium in a game than any death metal band.

Yeah, Guns 'n Roses.
Though I'd like something like The Doors or Pink Floyd too.
