Take a pound of "northren stoner" and a regular Mcdonald's burger. Mix them together, grind them up. Roll them in regular joint paper. 'Tis quite expensive though.

Louis' Lunch in New Haven Connecticut. It's the official home of the hamburger and they make the burgers the almost same way they have been for over 100 years. They don't put ketchup or mustard on it and it's frowned upon to ask for it. Just a burger between two slices of toast with cheese, onions, and/or tomato on it. They are delicious.
We have some cafe down town that makes awesome bacon cheese burgers, with real bacon crushed into bits, maybe a quarter of an inch high. Fast food wise, In-N-Out Burger. Sit down restaurant, erm... they're all kinda the same, but Old Chicago has good ones. Chilis definitely wins for best chicken strips.
Hmm two places come to mind. Even though I'm from England I have been to America many times and I am a big fan of Perkins. Not really a "burger joint" but I absolutely love the Tangler Burger from there! If not that then a burger joint in Las Vegas which was in the mall on the strip. I can't remember the name of it but it was bloody expensive, although it was worth it!!

In Mossman, Queensland the Welcome Mart (Down Mill Street) do awesome burgers and so do the "Old BP" Service Station (South Mossman, across form the Vet). They're now a locally owned place and there's a proper BP in town but no one calls it the BP so it's strange... Don't ask.
I didn't think anyone here would be familiar with that place. Best hamburgers around. My idea of a perfect lunch is a regular burger with bacon, red, yeller, no white, hold the tomato. Fries on the side, and a vanilla shake.Phlakes said:

Red Robin has good burgers and really good fries.

Denny's has a surprisingly good burger at least the ones down here.
Best Burger Joint in my opinion is steak-and-shake, I've tried five brothers and although their burgers are good I found something lacking, couldn't tell you what it is.

This random internet stranger confirms this, you should try it. The fries are also pretty awesome, but large portions. My favorite chain burger joint, hands down. Delicious greasy burgers.werekitsune said:

There's a pub near where I go to uni that does a nice burger, but other than that there's very few good places where I live to get a good burger.

Gourmet Burger...I'm guessing that the restaurants are different from the burger vans that have the same name?
