I'm surprised by the lack of top 80s cartoons mentioned so far, most of which had great intros (Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors noted!). Plenty of greats to choose from, like Mysterious Cities of Gold [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LbVNZ-cghz0], Defenders of the Earth [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Nm_jJBkHtU] and MASK [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M0BzBFWt8V8], but my favourite has to be Ulysses 31 [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZ4c1X5ene8] (which starts a proper around 0:45).
