But I forgot to add that while the original Power Rangers intro was bitching sweet, there were other seasons that had nice muzak: namely, Power Rangers in Space [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B8RmUkInp_A], Lost Galaxy [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y7mN6p-xn6U&feature=PlayList&p=DA7F3FD3E5F31BAA&index=12&playnext=2&playnext_from=PL] and DinoThunder [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sb-93r6jIjo]. Funnily enough, those were also the only other good seasons of Power Rangers. Well, Power Rangers Ninja Storm's opening [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-EKZeUUJ7qY] was pretty sweet, but it had two big problems: the show sucked, and A GUY WAS THE YELLOW RANGER.

If by 'fucked-up' you mean 'brilliantly fucked-up' in the same way Killer7 and No More Heroes apprently are, then yes, I agree. It's really difficult to understand in some of the latter episodes, but in the end it does all click together and you should get a good enough sense of what's going on. Lain's mostly an atmospheric horror/psychological drama anime anyway, so it's not like you can expect, say, naked female alien robots with a grudge against humanity running around butchering people.

It's psychedelic and incredibly weird, but I love it for it. It's worth a watch if you were even slightly interested in the Matrix or Dark City.

Yeah, that's the kind of fucked-up I was aiming for. I'll get to watching it eventually... Likely when I start getting into writing those Manga Mashups I have planned. Then I'll do an Anime Mashup... Ohhh, it will be SO not mainstream. When I get to that point I'll give Lain a swing.

To this day one of my favorite TV shows ever, it had a huge impact on my childhood (people who know me understand). The series was actiony, it was dark, and it was the first animated show I saw as a kid that killed off main characters left and right.

So really it explains why I became a cynical, bitter loner of an animator.
